Job Description
Position: Field Service Planner
Location : Sudbury, ON
Purpose of Role
The Field Service Planner is responsible for scheduling and planning the work performed by the Service / Training team. The individual will ensure the scope of work is defined and support the service team with completing their work on time and on budget. This includes validating proper training and competencies, review and provide plan for training and ensuring service reports are completed. The individual will also follow up with our customer upon completion of projects to ensure quality assurance and work with the sales team and shop management to establish proper workflow. To properly communicate with all internal stake holders on current projects, new opportunities, and any constraints.
- Establish and maintain excellent customer relationships by making periodic visits, exploring specific needs, resolving problems
- Assist with new business opportunities in relations to service contracts and training requirements and involved with site presence with current contracts for the purpose of renewal and potential growth
- Maintain a safe work environment for all personnel and ensure compliance with all policies, laws, and regulations
- Build job packages (Safe work plans, P&ID, planning details, drawing, etc
- Ensure all team members receiving the Field Service Team are provided with adequate information to successfully complete all tasks to expectations.
- Facilitate agreements with multiple departments on milestones and critical path
- Provide technical direction on projects for the service team.
- Coordinate with material expediters concerning critical items of supply
- Assist with internal training initiatives and coordinate external customer training
- Accurately quote project labor and service contracts
- Keeping customers regularly updated on all aspects of work orders
- Handling customer service requests & unscheduled maintenance requests
- Review and approve Field Audits, Toolbox transaction and audits and complete non-inventory requisitions for department requirements
- Assist with maintaining training matrix competencies
- Assist with scheduling of fleet vehicle planned service and repairs
- Communication with aftermarket sales and customer on job satisfaction and opportunities for improvement.
- Assist with addressing customer complaints in a timely and professional manner
- Assist manager with opportunities for improvement that will reduce costs and improve the efficiency of the services
- Scheduling of the commissioning of equipment
- Assist with follow up with site training and review service reports
- Provide reports on current contracts on aftermarket opportunities
- Assist with departmental payroll, employee performance evaluations and new hire requirements.
Education
- Minimum High School Diploma or Certificate of Completion
Experience
- Five (5) + years’ experience in the underground mining industry
- Previous mechanical maintenance, business and management experience is required
- Be able to read electrical and hydraulic schematics with trouble shooting knowledge of hydraulics, electrical and brake systems.
- Excellent communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of workers and our customers.
- Strong computer literacy skills (MS Office)
- Bilingual (French and English)
- Willing to travel both domestically and within Canada
- Required to wear all PPE at all times

- Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
- Must possess a valid passport
