Accountabilities:

The Senior QA Automation Developer will be responsible for driving automation excellence, improving testing practices, and ensuring high-quality software delivery through collaboration with cross-functional teams.

  • Architect, develop, maintain, and scale automated test suites using Playwright and industry-standard automation practices.
  • Design and implement reliable end-to-end testing solutions with a focus on maintainability, scalability, and long-term efficiency.
  • Collaborate with developers and product managers throughout the SDLC to identify quality risks, clarify requirements, and define acceptance criteria.
  • Drive quality across UI and API testing by leveraging tools such as Postman, monitoring insights, incident reviews, and customer feedback.
  • Apply AI-powered tools and innovative approaches to accelerate QA automation development and improve testing strategies.
  • Create comprehensive test plans based on product requirements, technical documentation, and business objectives.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for key initiatives and validate new features before release.
  • Review manual test cases and identify opportunities to integrate scenarios into automated regression suites.
  • Improve QA processes, documentation, workflows, and best practices across engineering teams.
  • Partner with senior QA leaders to enhance automation standards and promote continuous quality improvements.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings strong experience in software quality engineering, automation frameworks, and Agile development environments, with the ability to combine technical expertise and collaborative problem-solving skills.

  • 5+ years of experience in QA engineering, testing SaaS, cloud applications, or complex software platforms.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience building and maintaining automation frameworks using Playwright, Cypress, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle and quality engineering principles.
  • Proven experience creating scalable end-to-end automation solutions using design patterns such as Page Object Model, data factories, and separation of concerns.
  • Experience with both UI and API testing, including API validation tools such as Postman.
  • Strong automation-first mindset with experience improving test coverage and integrating automation into CI/CD workflows.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, rapid release cycles, and test management platforms.
  • Experience with TypeScript and/or Go is a plus.
  • Knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Ability to continuously learn new technologies and incorporate modern testing approaches, including AI-assisted tools.
Benefits:
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage with full drug coverage.
  • Health and wellness spending account with annual flexibility for wellness-related expenses.
  • Four weeks of paid vacation plus additional personal floater days.
  • Group RRSP/DPSP retirement savings plan with company matching contributions.
  • Access to telemedicine services and licensed practitioner support.
  • Parental leave top-up programs to support growing families.
  • Flexible remote-first work model with the option to work from company offices across Canada.
  • Opportunity to work in a fast-growing technology environment with strong engineering culture.
  • Exposure to modern tools, technologies, and innovative approaches to software quality.
