Job Description

Staff Product Manager, Monetization & Billing

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Product Manager, Monetization & Billing based in Canada.

This is a high-impact product leadership role focused on shaping how a B2B SaaS platform monetizes its products and services.
You will own the strategy and infrastructure behind pricing, packaging, billing, metering, and entitlements.
The role directly influences key business outcomes including net revenue retention, expansion, churn reduction, and partner revenue.
You will work closely with Product, Engineering, Finance, Revenue Operations, Sales, and partner teams to turn commercial strategy into scalable product experiences.
With significant autonomy, you will lead complex monetization initiatives and make data-driven decisions across self-serve, sales-assisted, and enterprise motions.
You will also mentor other product managers and help establish best practices for pricing, billing, and growth across the wider Product organization.
This is an opportunity to build foundational systems and strategies that can materially shape the future growth of a global digital platform.

Accountabilities:
  • Own the product strategy for monetization and billing, including pricing, packaging, subscription billing, usage-based pricing, metering, entitlements, invoicing, and related infrastructure.
  • Drive net revenue retention by identifying opportunities for upsell and expansion while reducing downsell, churn, and revenue leakage.
  • Define, monitor, and communicate key commercial metrics such as NRR, expansion revenue, and partner-sourced revenue in collaboration with Finance and Analytics.
  • Partner with Finance, Revenue Operations, Sales, and Product leadership on pricing and packaging decisions across self-serve, sales-assisted, enterprise, and partner motions.
  • Lead the roadmap for billing and metering capabilities and ensure pricing changes are accurately reflected across CRM, quote-to-cash, invoicing, and revenue-reporting systems.
  • Develop partner and agency monetization models, including billing, discounting, incentives, and revenue-sharing mechanisms that support profitable growth.
  • Improve payment, dunning, collections, and related processes to reduce revenue leakage and strengthen monetization performance.
  • Design and interpret pricing experiments, using customer and business data to validate hypotheses and inform product and commercial decisions.
  • Monitor SaaS pricing, packaging, billing, and competitive trends to identify emerging monetization opportunities.
  • Build strong organizational alignment by clearly communicating monetization strategy, outcomes, priorities, and trade-offs to senior stakeholders.
  • Mentor and unblock other product managers working on adjacent growth and monetization initiatives while championing best practices across the Product organization.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of Product Management experience, with deep expertise in pricing, packaging, monetization, or billing within a B2B SaaS environment.
  • Demonstrated track record of independently leading strategic monetization initiatives and delivering measurable improvements in NRR, expansion, churn, or downsell.
  • Experience designing partner, channel, agency, or reseller pricing and incentive models.
  • Hands-on experience with subscription billing platforms such as Zuora, Chargebee, Stripe Billing, or comparable technologies.
  • Familiarity with usage-based pricing, metering, and entitlement platforms such as Stigg, Metronome, Amberflo, or similar solutions.
  • Working knowledge of CRM and quote-to-cash technologies, including Salesforce, HubSpot, and related systems.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, including experience using SQL, Amplitude, Looker, or comparable tools to evaluate pricing and monetization performance.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives involving Engineering, Finance, Revenue Operations, Sales, and Product teams with minimal direction.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex commercial and technical concepts into clear recommendations.
  • Highly resourceful, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating independently in an evolving environment.
  • Experience with partner or agency ecosystems, billing-system migrations, ERP integrations, WebOps, hosting, or WordPress/Drupal environments is an advantage.
Benefits:
  • Canada base salary range of CAD $127,800–$159,800, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Industry-competitive compensation and equity plan.
  • Paid Time Off (PTO), Paid Sick Leave (PSL), and 11 paid company holidays.
  • Comprehensive medical coverage, including extended healthcare, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Remote-first culture with team and company-wide events and activities.
  • Top-of-the-line equipment to support productive remote work.
  • Monthly allowance supporting wellness and reading.
  • Access to LinkedIn Learning for ongoing professional development.
  • Opportunities to work in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment with a strong focus on innovation and employee development.
