ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY
Franciscan Outreach is a leading provider of homeless services in Chicago. We operate as a system of support for those who are marginalized and experiencing homelessness. We empower people to gain the stability they need to transition into permanent housing. POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Training and Compliance Coordinator is responsible for developing and delivering training programs to staff, ensuring understanding and adherence to organizational approach, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. This role will support ongoing staff development, monitor compliance standards, and assist with audits and reporting to maintain Franciscan Outreach’s commitment to excellence and accountability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
• Develop, implement, and facilitate training sessions for staff:
o Organizational policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
o Homelessness-tailored services, including trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and motivational interviewing.
• Coordinate with external partners to provide relevant training for staff development.
• Provide ongoing support and coaching to staff to ensure understanding and adherence to policies and best practices.
• Monitor and evaluate compliance with organizational, state, and federal regulations.
• Assist with preparing for audits, inspections, and reporting requirements.
• Maintain and update training materials, manuals, and compliance documentation.
• Track and document training completion and compliance metrics.
• Collaborate with program leaders to identify training needs and compliance gaps.
• Stay informed of relevant regulations and best practices in nonprofit compliance and training.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITES
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
• Attendance at staff meetings as required
• Attendance at special events as directed by supervisor
• Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND ABILITES
• Communicate effectively, professionally, and respectfully with staff, volunteers, partners, and guests.
• Organize, coordinate, and track training activities, deadlines, and compliance requirements.
• Use technology to communicate, organize information, maintain records, and manage documentation.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory or compliance requirements.
• Present training information, policies, procedures, and compliance expectations clearly and professionally.
• Maintain strong organization, attention to detail, and accuracy when managing records and compliance documentation.
• Work independently while also collaborating effectively with staff and leadership across departments.
• Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office and training, learning management, or other workforce management software.
• Build and maintain professional working relationships across diverse teams and levels of the organization.
• Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical standards when handling personnel, training, and compliance information.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely training and compliance records and reports.
• Identify gaps or inconsistencies in training and compliance documentation and communicate concerns appropriately.
• Demonstrate sound judgment, follow-through, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to become HMIS certified user

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Social Services, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in training, staff development, compliance coordination, quality assurance, or a related area.
• Experience working in nonprofit, social service, education, healthcare, housing, or other human services organizations.
• Demonstrated experience developing, coordinating, facilitating, and/or tracking staff training across multiple programs or service models.
• Working knowledge of compliance standards, licensing requirements, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements applicable to social services, housing, healthcare, or other human services settings.
• Experience maintaining training records, compliance documentation, certifications, and related personnel records.
• Experience monitoring deadlines and following up with staff and supervisors to ensure completion of required training and compliance activities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with learning management systems, training platforms, or other electronic documentation systems preferred.
