The EHS Coordinator manages day-to-day environmental compliance and carries out plant safety activities at the Boulder City manufacturing facility. The role calls for hands-on experience with environmental requirements, especially air permits, emissions and material usage records, waste, and regulatory reporting.

The coordinator must also be present on the plant floor to lead training, identify hazards, and follow corrective actions through completion. The work is expected to be approximately 60% environmental and 40% safety, with priorities changing as plant needs arise.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Environmental Compliance (60%)

• Maintain the site compliance calendar and records for applicable air permit conditions, hazardous waste, SPCC, stormwater, and EPCRA Tier II/TRI requirements.
• Track raw material usage, VOC emissions, and other data needed for air permit records, emissions calculations, and corporate reporting; identify gaps and resolve them with plant and corporate teams.
• Prepare or coordinate environmental reports, inspections, sampling, and permit updates; verify that required activities and submissions are completed on time.
• Manage waste handling and documentation, stormwater inspections and controls, and other routine environmental practices at the plant.
• Support regulator visits and environmental audits, document findings, and drive corrective actions to closure.

Health & Safety (40%)

• Conduct regular plant inspections, verify PPE and safe work practices, and work with supervisors to correct hazards promptly.
• Deliver employee onboarding, refresher training, toolbox talks, and other required safety training; maintain accurate training records.
• Support job hazard analyses, incident investigations, root cause reviews, OSHA compliance activities, and follow-up actions.
• Track near misses, first aids, inspections, and corrective actions in the EHS management system; report trends and overdue items.
• Lead local safety committee activities and support emergency preparedness and contractor safety.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintains accurate, retrievable EHS records and documentation in the EHS management system.
• Works independently with plant personnel, consultants, and regulators to follow issues through to closure.
• Supports corporate EHS initiatives, reporting requests, and program rollouts at the site level.
• Reinforces the QUESST core values through daily interaction with employees on the plant floor.
• Supports cross-department collaboration to resolve environmental, safety, and operational issues.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, safety, industrial hygiene, or a related field preferred.
• CHMM, HAZWOPER, or OSHA 30 training is a plus; practical environmental experience is the priority.
• Travel Requirements: Minimal travel required; the position is based at the Boulder City manufacturing facility, with occasional travel for training, regulatory, or corporate needs.

Other Key Skills:

• At least 3 years of EHS experience in manufacturing or another regulated industrial setting, including direct responsibility for environmental compliance
• Hands-on experience maintaining air permit records and tracking emissions or material usage; able to interpret permit conditions and recognize when a requirement or deadline is at risk
• Working knowledge of hazardous waste, stormwater, SPCC, and EPCRA reporting, with experience preparing records or coordinating required submissions
• Ability to work independently with plant personnel, consultants, and regulators, maintain reliable records, and follow issues through closure
• Experience conducting plant safety inspections and training, supporting incident investigations, and applying OSHA requirements
• Comfortable working in both office and production floor environments
• Experience with EHS management software is a plus

ADA REQUIREMENTS

Environment (office or other): Split between office and production floor environments; regular exposure to plant conditions including noise, dust, temperature variation, and moving equipment.

Equipment Operated: Computer, phone, EHS management software, sampling and monitoring equipment, required personal protective equipment, standard office equipment.

Lifting: Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs may be required; must be able to walk plant floors, climb stairs and ladders, and access areas for inspection.

Sitting: Must be able to remain in a sitting position for 50% of the time; the balance of time is spent standing, walking, and on the plant floor.
