Based in West Hartford, CT, Triumph Systems, Electronics and Controls is a leading independent aerospace system supplier for the commercial and military helicopter and business jet markets and employs approximately 500 employees. The Companys key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units, main fuel pumps and environmental control systems for both the OE and aftermarket/spares end markets.

Responsibilities

Salary Range: $27.00 - $38.00/hour Based on Experience

Position Summary: Triumph Engine Control Systems is looking to fill an Expeditor position in the Planning Group. The Expeditor will review production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine type and quantity of materials to meet production needs. The incumbent will expedite movement of material and parts between purchasing, suppliers, receiving, and production areas; communicate with necessary parties to inform them of material status and expedite rush of overdue materials; provide materials status at production meetings; escalate potential shortages to management; reconcile discrepancies with material received, such as quantity errors and damages; and perform related duties as assigned by the team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Compile and maintain material and parts inventory and status information to expedite movement of material and parts between production areas, according to predetermined production schedules and order priorities.
  • Read production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock, and order priority.
  • Confer with department supervisors to determine overdue material and parts and to inform supervisors of material status.
  • Record, maintain and conduct transactions related to inventory.
  • Compile and maintain records, such as material inventory records and production records, manually or using computer.
  • Coordinate with associates to expedite transfer of materials from stock area to production areas.
  • May verify materials received, part numbers, and check for discrepancies, such as damaged or unmarked parts.
  • May compare work ticket specifications to material used at work stations to verify appropriate assignment.
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years experience expediting background in a manufacturing environment.
  • Associates Degree or equivalent.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent math skills.
  • JD Edwards Experience a plus.
  • Must be experienced using MS Excel.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Physical Requirements (Lifting, Bending, Stretching, etc.)

  • This position is significantly on the floor, walking or standing for long periods of time.
  • Must have manual dexterity to operate computer keyboard and standard office equipment.
  • Ability to interact with a diversity of people and diverse levels of personnel.
