Performance Creative Strategist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Performance Creative Strategist based in Canada.

The Performance Creative Strategist will own creative direction and performance strategy across multiple paid social accounts, helping transform insights into high-converting creative. This role combines strong creative instincts with a rigorous, data-driven approach to messaging, concepts, and execution. You will research consumer behavior, analyze advertising performance, monitor competitors, and continuously refine creative direction based on what drives results. Working closely with designers, editors, media buyers, and clients, you will ensure creative strategies are aligned from brief through execution. You will also contribute to the development of junior creatives through mentorship and strategic guidance. The role is ideal for a curious, collaborative creative professional who enjoys turning ideas into measurable business impact.

Accountabilities
  • Lead creative strategy and messaging across multiple paid social accounts, from initial brief through final execution.

  • Conduct performance-focused research using advertising platform data, competitor monitoring, consumer insights, and market trends.

  • Develop high-converting creative concepts grounded in consumer behavior, platform dynamics, and brand storytelling.

  • Write and guide compelling short-form copy, messaging frameworks, hooks, and creative directions designed to influence perception and drive performance.

  • Translate quantitative performance data and qualitative feedback into clear, actionable creative improvements and strategic pivots.

  • Collaborate closely with design, editing, and media buying teams to ensure strong end-to-end creative alignment.

  • Present creative concepts, strategic recommendations, and performance insights clearly and confidently to clients and internal stakeholders.

  • Mentor and support junior creatives, helping them strengthen their execution, strategic thinking, and creative capabilities.

  • Stay current on emerging social formats, cultural shifts, platform trends, and creative practices that can improve campaign performance.

  • Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing creative environment where experimentation, learning, and continuous improvement are encouraged.

Requirements
  • Exceptional writing and copywriting ability, particularly for short-form, digital-first, and visual-first content.

  • A strong portfolio demonstrating strategic thinking, copywriting expertise, creative concepts, and performance-focused work.

  • Demonstrated experience developing performance creative and applying a data-driven approach to creative strategy.

  • Strong understanding of consumer behavior, paid social platforms, algorithms, digital storytelling, and brand positioning.

  • Proven ability to interpret performance data and use insights to make informed creative pivots and recommendations.

  • A balanced strategic and creative mindset, combining intuition and originality with analytical rigor.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the confidence to present ideas, influence stakeholders, and inspire creative teams.

  • Experience collaborating across creative, media, design, editing, and other disciplines in a fast-paced environment.

  • A genuine interest in mentoring, developing others, and improving creative work collaboratively.

  • Curiosity, initiative, adaptability, and a passion for developing ideas that capture attention and create an emotional response.

  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required.

  • Experience with MotionApp is considered an asset.
