About the Role:

The Grind & Pack Operator Lead plays a critical role in overseeing and coordinating the grinding and packaging operations within a manufacturing environment. This position ensures that production targets are met efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The lead operator is responsible for guiding and supporting a team of operators, facilitating smooth workflow, and troubleshooting operational issues as they arise. They act as a liaison between management and production staff to implement process improvements and maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Ultimately, this role drives operational excellence by fostering a productive, safe, and collaborative work environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in grinding and packaging operations.
  • Proven leadership experience or supervisory role in a production setting.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret production schedules, work orders, and safety guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in manufacturing or production-related training programs.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of safety standards such as OSHA regulations.
  • Previous experience working in a food manufacturing or similar regulated environment.
  • Proficiency with production tracking software and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of grind and pack operators to meet daily production goals and quality standards.
  • Monitor grinding and packaging equipment to ensure proper operation and perform routine maintenance as needed.
  • Train new operators on equipment use, safety protocols, and company procedures to ensure consistent performance.
  • Coordinate workflow and communicate effectively with other departments to optimize production schedules.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain product quality.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Document production data, equipment status, and any incidents accurately for reporting and continuous improvement.

The required skills enable the Grind & Pack Operator Lead to effectively manage daily production activities by applying mechanical knowledge to operate and troubleshoot equipment. Leadership and communication skills are essential for guiding the team, providing training, and coordinating with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
