JOB SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the B Shift Group Leader, the CNC Operator - B Shift position is responsible for operating and monitoring CNC machines to ensure quality, accuracy, and proper machine performance. This includes using precision measuring tools, performing drilling and deburring operations, and completing first-piece and in-process inspections.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Essential functions of this job include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Read and interpret blueprints to prepare machines for production.
- Perform basic machine setup according to specifications and work orders.
- Operate CNC Mills, monitor machine performance, and use precision measuring tools to ensure parts meet quality standards.
- Follows blueprints and verbal and written instructions to produce required quantities.
- Adhere to all safety rules regarding machine operation and proper guarding.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Deburr parts using hand grinders, files, roto-burrs and sand cloth.
- Conduct first-piece and in-process inspections to verify parts meet specifications.
- Move raw materials and finished parts using a pallet jack or by hand.
- Promote and support the requirements and principles of the Precise Quality Management System and AS9100.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Holds oneself accountable for doing whatever is needed to meet the commitments made around project outcomes.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directives.
- Ability to work well under pressure, to adhere to deadlines and the ability to be flexible.
- Thorough operational knowledge and skills of specific equipment to be operated, including inspection equipment.
- Ability to operate assigned equipment safely and efficiently.
- Ability to keep record of time spent and material used.
- Ability to use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers and gages.
- Ability to read drawings and blueprints and be familiar with common machine tools.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 years of experience with operation of CNC Mills

According to the New York Pay Transparency law, pay range for this job is $18.00 - $25.00 / hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
