Network Administrator

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Network Administrator based in Canada.

This role plays a key part in maintaining, evolving, and securing enterprise IT infrastructure across a dynamic, service-oriented environment. You will be responsible for ensuring the stability and performance of critical network and server systems while supporting the integration of new technologies that enhance IT services. Working at the intersection of operations and innovation, you will troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, support end users, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. The environment is fast-paced and highly collaborative, requiring strong technical judgment and the ability to respond effectively to incidents and escalations. You will also participate in system upgrades, vendor coordination, and infrastructure optimization efforts. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in hands-on technical work and enjoys solving real-world networking challenges at scale.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and continuous improvement of enterprise network and infrastructure systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and security across all environments.

  • Deploy, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot servers, network devices, and related infrastructure components
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across systems, networks, and end-user environments
  • Handle escalated service desk tickets and provide timely, effective incident resolution
  • Support installation, configuration, and testing of customized IT solutions across multiple platforms
  • Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers to ensure effective support and system performance
  • Contribute to IT projects, system upgrades, and infrastructure enhancements
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, including system configurations and procedures
  • Recommend improvements, schedule maintenance, and support ongoing system optimization efforts
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices to support continuous evolution of IT services
Requirements:

This role requires a strong foundation in network administration, systems support, and IT operations within a complex enterprise environment, along with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues under pressure.

  • Diploma or degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field with 4+ years of relevant experience in IT operations or network administration
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, VLANs, SAN, and security protocols
  • Experience with Windows Server environments, virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, VMware), and enterprise systems
  • Hands-on experience with switches, firewalls, and endpoint security tools
  • Familiarity with IT service management frameworks (ITIL or similar) is an asset
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in high-pressure environments
  • Excellent communication and customer-service orientation
  • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently or in teams
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations, maintenance windows, and occasional off-site work
