Job Description

Associate Director, Digital Product Management, Catalysts

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Associate Director, Digital Product Management, Catalysts based in the United States.

This is a senior individual contributor role focused on accelerating digital product management maturity across complex, high-priority products and teams.
You will embed directly with product organizations to strengthen product practices and adoption of an outcome-oriented operating model.
The role combines hands-on product leadership, coaching, strategic problem solving, and cross-functional influence.
You will help teams define meaningful problems, establish measurable outcomes, improve roadmaps, and make informed investment and prioritization decisions.
Working across business, technology, data, compliance, quality, and product leadership, you will help resolve dependencies and navigate complex environments.
You will also capture lessons from engagements and translate them into reusable playbooks, standards, tools, and practices that improve enterprise-wide product capabilities.
This is an opportunity to shape how digital products are managed while helping teams deliver measurable value in a highly collaborative, science-driven environment.

Accountabilities:
  • Embedded product leadership: Embed with complex and strategically important products and teams to strengthen product management practices, accelerate adoption of the digital product operating model, and improve product maturity.
  • Product coaching and capability building: Act as a senior hands-on player-coach for Digital Product Managers and cross-functional teams, developing capabilities in problem framing, discovery, product strategy, roadmapping, OKRs, KPIs, prioritization, stakeholder alignment, and value measurement.
  • Direct product management: When a dedicated product manager is not available, temporarily assume product management responsibilities, including shaping product direction, defining outcomes, aligning stakeholders, resolving trade-offs, and supporting roadmap and capacity decisions.
  • Outcome-oriented product strategy: Help teams connect business and enterprise strategy to product outcomes, develop product visions and strategies, improve roadmaps, establish measurable success criteria, and make investment recommendations.
  • Discovery and prioritization: Guide teams in using customer insights, product data, experimentation, business context, feasibility, risk, capacity, and dependencies to make evidence-based product decisions.
  • Cross-functional leadership: Partner with business, technology, engineering, data, design, compliance, quality, operations, and adjacent product teams to clarify roles, decision rights, operating rhythms, dependencies, and expectations.
  • Stakeholder influence: Influence senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders without formal authority, communicate product direction and trade-offs clearly, and escalate significant blockers or alignment issues when necessary.
  • Catalyst engagement execution: Lead engagement activities from initial product and team assessment through planning, embedded coaching, adoption measurement, transition, and lessons learned.
  • Continuous improvement: Identify capability gaps, adoption barriers, and recurring product-management challenges, then translate practical learnings into reusable examples, templates, playbooks, standards, and operating practices.
  • Performance measurement: Define and track engagement success measures such as product management capability growth, team adoption, product maturity, measurable product outcomes, and sustained adoption after the engagement concludes.
Requirements:
  • Education and experience: Bachelor's degree plus at least 7 years of relevant experience, Master's degree plus 5 years, Doctorate plus 3 years, Associate's degree plus 12 years, or high school diploma/GED plus 14 years in digital product management, product leadership, digital transformation, technology strategy, or a related field.
  • Product management expertise: 7+ years of progressive experience spanning product strategy, discovery, roadmapping, prioritization, delivery, and outcome measurement is preferred.
  • Complex product leadership: Demonstrated experience owning or leading complex, interdependent, high-priority products or initiatives in environments with significant stakeholder and organizational complexity.
  • Coaching capability: Experience mentoring, coaching, or upskilling product managers, product owners, business partners, or cross-functional teams, with the ability to balance hands-on leadership and capability development.
  • Product management craft: Strong knowledge of customer and user problem definition, product discovery, roadmap development, OKRs, KPIs, prioritization, stakeholder alignment, investment trade-offs, and value realization.
  • Strategic judgment: Ability to frame ambiguous problems, evaluate competing priorities, resolve dependencies, make sound trade-off recommendations, and create practical paths forward.
  • Influence and communication: Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with demonstrated ability to influence senior business, technology, product, engineering, data, compliance, and functional stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Operating-model experience: Experience contributing to product operating models, playbooks, standards, templates, training programs, or organizational adoption initiatives is preferred.
  • Industry background: Experience in healthcare, biotechnology, regulated industries, high technology, digital consulting, or product-led organizations is valuable.
  • Emerging technology: Familiarity with AI-native product development, generative AI workflows, responsible AI principles, and the evolving impact of AI on product management is preferred.
  • Leadership style: Strong collaboration, adaptability, accountability, continuous-improvement mindset, and the ability to operate effectively in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
Benefits:
  • Competitive base salary: $188,054.85–$254,427.15 annually, with actual compensation determined by factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, and other applicable considerations.
  • Annual incentive: Eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus program.
  • Retirement benefits: Retirement and savings plan with generous employer contributions.
  • Healthcare: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for eligible employees and dependents.
  • Financial protection: Life and disability insurance, plus flexible spending account options.
  • Long-term incentives: Stock-based long-term incentive opportunities, subject to eligibility.
  • Time off: Award-winning paid time-off programs supporting work-life balance.
  • Flexible work: Flexible work models where applicable to the position and work-location requirements.
  • Career development: Opportunities for professional growth, learning, and career development.
  • Inclusive workplace: A collaborative environment that values diverse perspectives and supports reasonable accommodations throughout the employment lifecycle.
  • Remote opportunity: United States remote position.
