Job Title: Senior Human Resources Generalist
Position Summary
The Senior Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting all aspects of the Human Resources function in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with leadership and employees to foster a positive workplace culture while ensuring compliance with employment laws, company policies, and HR best practices. The ideal candidate is a hands-on HR professional with experience in employee relations, recruiting, compliance, performance management, and workforce development.
This position requires occasional travel to company facilities, job fairs, training events, and other business locations as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted HR partner to managers and employees across multiple departments.
- Partner with and support HR Managers across multiple facilities with employee relations, recruiting, performance management, investigations, compliance, and other HR initiatives.
- Collaborate with HR Managers to implement company-wide HR programs, initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Support and administer performance management processes, including coaching managers and facilitating employee development.
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, coordinating hiring managers, extending offers, and onboarding new employees.
- Coordinate and conduct new hire orientation and onboarding activities.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain employee records and HRIS data with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Assist with compensation, benefits administration, leave management, and employee wellness initiatives.
- Support disciplinary actions and terminations while ensuring consistent application of company policies.
- Partner with operations leadership to improve employee engagement, retention, and workforce planning.
- Analyze HR metrics and recommend process improvements.
- Assist with policy development, implementation, and communication.
- Support safety initiatives and collaborate with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) teams when appropriate.
- Participate in special HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Travel between company locations or attend off-site meetings, recruiting events, and training sessions as business needs require.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience with full-cycle recruiting and talent acquisition.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
- Experience handling employee relations, investigations, and conflict resolution.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR).
- Experience supporting multi-site manufacturing operations.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments, including exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and production equipment while following all safety protocols.
