Segment Marketing Communication Strategist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Segment Marketing Communication Strategist based in United States.

This is an opportunity to shape marketing communications that engage prospective and current students across diverse audience segments and stages of the student journey.
You’ll help develop and execute communication strategies aligned with broader enrollment and growth objectives.
The role spans multiple audiences, including undergraduate, transfer, international, graduate, military, and community college populations.
You’ll manage campaigns across email, text, direct mail, and automated communication journeys using modern marketing technology.
Working closely with marketing, admissions, martech, and other cross-functional teams, you’ll turn performance data into actionable improvements.
Your work will directly influence engagement and key enrollment outcomes while improving the overall prospective-student experience.
This is a remote, collaborative role for a strategic communicator who enjoys working across complex systems and evolving priorities.

Accountabilities:
  • Develop and support segment marketing communication strategies and workflows, helping coordinate priorities and execution across campus and other strategic audience segments.
  • Manage and monitor communication projects, including email, direct mail, SMS, automated journeys, and recurring or ad-hoc campaigns through Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Continuously evaluate communication strategies and identify opportunities to improve the customer and prospective-student experience.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to analyze campaign performance, recommend improvements, and report on marketing communication activity and results.
  • Provide relevant communication and performance insights to field directors and other stakeholders to support strategic discussions and partner meetings.
  • Apply knowledge of admissions and enrollment processes to create clear, relevant communications for prospective students, including general and international student requirements.
  • Develop communications designed around enrollment KPIs such as completed applications, campus tour attendance, deposits, and other conversion milestones.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Technology and Admissions teams on the promotion, creation, and content management of on-campus recruitment events.
  • Support adoption and effective use of the broader marketing technology stack, working with Martech partners to maintain and improve communication capabilities.
  • Maintain segment event information across designated systems and platforms, ensuring data is accurate and accessible.
  • Support monitoring of email deliverability and the health of email-sending infrastructure, including sending IP addresses.
  • Collaborate with campus and segment partners to ensure student communications are coordinated, consistent, and aligned with broader strategic objectives.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of enrollment management experience across campus, global, military, or related environments, or 2+ years managing email campaigns and communications designed to support enrollment objectives.
  • 2+ years of CRM experience, preferably with Salesforce or a comparable platform.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong understanding of complex systems and the ability to anticipate dependencies between processes, technologies, teams, and communication initiatives.
  • Experience working with marketing communications and engagement programs tied to measurable enrollment or conversion KPIs.
  • Ability to understand admissions processes and translate complex requirements into clear, useful communications for prospective students.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret campaign performance data and turn insights into recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex ideas and processes clearly to business stakeholders.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with Marketing, Admissions, Marketing Technology, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic, organized, and customer-focused mindset, with a continuous-improvement approach to communication and engagement.
Benefits:
  • Annual salary range: $58,455–$93,546, with a target hiring range of $64,593–$87,391 depending on skills, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and business considerations.
  • Remote work available from approved U.S. states, with employees required to maintain a reliable internet connection and dedicated, properly equipped workspace.
  • High-quality, low-deductible medical insurance.
  • Low- to no-cost dental and vision coverage.
  • 5 weeks of paid time off plus nearly a dozen paid holidays.
  • Employer-funded retirement benefits.
  • Free tuition program.
  • Parental leave.
  • Mental health and wellbeing resources.
  • A collaborative, inclusive environment focused on innovation, professional growth, and meaningful impact.
