As the team grows, you will mentor scientific professionals and develop into a broader people leadership role.
This is a fully remote opportunity in the United States, with periodic travel and a preference for candidates aligned with East Coast working hours.

Accountabilities
  • Partner with account leadership to develop and execute organic growth strategies, anticipating client and therapeutic-area needs and identifying opportunities where scientific expertise can create additional value.
  • Develop scientific communications platforms, communication plans, KOL engagement strategies, evidence-generation approaches, and publication plans aligned with Medical Affairs objectives.
  • Serve as the scientific lead for client pitches, RFPs, RFIs, and new business development opportunities, bringing strategic and scientific expertise to proposals.

  • Develop and execute scientific deliverables including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, review articles, symposium materials, literature searches, gap analyses, and strategic publication plans across investigational and mature products.
  • Collaborate with technology and creative teams to develop innovative digital solutions supporting Medical Affairs and scientific communications programs.
  • Mentor scientific writers and junior directors through detailed feedback, training, and knowledge sharing while reinforcing strong scientific and editorial standards.
  • Help build and lead the scientific team as the organization grows, taking on formal people-management responsibilities and developing team capabilities over time.
  • Identify and integrate practical AI applications and emerging healthcare technologies to improve scientific strategy, content development, and client delivery.
Requirements
  • MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent advanced scientific degree.
  • 7–10 years of experience in medical communications, Medical Affairs, or the pharmaceutical industry, including demonstrated success at Scientific Director level or an equivalent senior position.
  • Strong integrated scientific communications experience spanning both medical communications and publication programs.
  • Proven ability to develop scientific and account strategies and translate them into measurable organic growth in partnership with commercial or account leadership.
  • Demonstrated success building, maintaining, and leveraging senior client and KOL relationships.
  • Experience developing and overseeing scientific deliverables for both investigational and mature products, ideally across multiple therapeutic areas.
  • Previous experience serving as the scientific lead for client pitches, business development initiatives, RFPs, and RFIs.
  • Strong scientific judgment, attention to detail, editorial expertise, and the ability to review and improve the work of other scientific professionals.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Demonstrated mentoring and team-development capabilities, with the ability to grow into formal people leadership.
  • Experience supporting congress activities and facilitating or participating in advisory board meetings is a plus.
  • Understanding of AI applications in medical communications and emerging healthcare technologies.
  • Strategic, commercially aware, collaborative, and proactive approach to solving complex client and scientific challenges.
  • Willingness to travel periodically to support client meetings and business needs.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Benefits
  • Fully remote position within the United States.
  • Annual leave, public holidays, personal days, and a special birthday day off.

  • Comprehensive health coverage for employees and families, including medical, dental, and vision care.
  • Wellness support covering medical, mental health, and specialist care.
  • Life assurance and income protection benefits.
  • Retirement savings plan with employer contributions and flexible options.
  • Company-provided mobile phone.
  • Reimbursement for approved travel and business-related expenses.
  • Opportunity to work at the intersection of scientific expertise, medical communications, technology, and AI.
