This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Corporate Account Executive - Spend & Expense based in the United States.
This is a senior sales opportunity focused on helping businesses modernize how they manage spending, expenses, and financial operations.
You’ll own the sales cycle from prospecting and qualification through product demonstrations, negotiation, and close.
The role combines strategic account development with highly proactive outbound selling, with approximately 80% of new leads expected to be self-sourced.
You’ll engage business leaders, understand their operational challenges, and connect their needs to a comprehensive financial automation platform.
Success requires strong consultative selling skills, commercial judgment, persistence, and the ability to navigate longer enterprise sales cycles.
You’ll work cross-functionally with lead generation, implementation, success, and other teams while managing your territory and pipeline with significant autonomy.
This remote role offers high earning potential and opportunities for career growth in a fast-paced fintech environment, with travel required approximately once or twice per month for key field events.
- Manage a portfolio of prospects and opportunities, including leads generated by SDRs as well as personally sourced prospects.
- Generate new business through proactive outbound prospecting, direct lead follow-up, networking, and partner relationships, with approximately 80% of new leads expected to be self-sourced.
- Own the complete sales cycle, from initial qualification and needs analysis through product demonstrations, negotiation, and closing.
- Identify customer pain points and develop consultative solutions that demonstrate the value of spend, expense, and financial automation capabilities.
- Develop and maintain deep knowledge of the full product portfolio, including accounts payable and Spend & Expense solutions.
- Build a strong understanding of your assigned territory, market dynamics, competitive offerings, and relevant business trends.
- Manage longer and potentially complex sales cycles, maintaining momentum and stakeholder engagement throughout the buying process.
- Prioritize opportunities effectively and use strong time-management skills to maximize sales productivity and revenue outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activity, pipeline, forecasts, and customer interactions using Salesforce and other sales technology.
- Prepare reliable sales reports and forecasts and communicate pipeline status, opportunities, risks, and activities to sales leadership.
- Partner effectively with lead-generation, implementation, customer success, and other cross-functional teams to support successful customer acquisition and growth.
- Travel approximately 1–2 times per month to support key field events and customer-facing activities.
- 5+ years of professional sales experience in a closing role or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience with outbound lead generation and proactive prospecting.
- Proven ability to manage longer sales cycles, with an average cycle of approximately 100 days and potentially longer for complex opportunities.
- Experience using modern sales and business intelligence tools such as Salesforce, Outreach, ZoomInfo, and Tableau.
- Strong consultative selling skills, including the ability to listen carefully, understand customer needs, establish trust, communicate value, and confidently ask for the sale.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize a diverse pipeline and manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Willingness to work outside standard business hours when necessary to support customers and close opportunities.
- Experience in fintech, B2B, SaaS, financial technology, or related sales environments is preferred.
- Experience working with CFOs, Corporate Controllers, VPs of Finance, or similar senior financial decision-makers is preferred.
- Background in finance or accounting, whether through academic study or professional experience, is preferred.
- Experience collaborating with lead-generation and implementation or customer-success teams is a plus.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring current or future visa sponsorship.
- Remote position with flexibility and travel of approximately 1–2 times per month for key field events.
- Annual On-Target Earnings (OTE) vary by geographic zone:
- Zone 1: $248,600–$298,200 USD for the San Francisco Bay Area, New York City, Seattle, and Los Angeles County.
- Zone 2: $223,700–$268,300 USD for other California locations, Austin, Texas, and Massachusetts.
- Zone 3: $211,200–$253,400 USD for Utah, Dallas, Houston, Florida, North Carolina, Illinois, Colorado, Arizona, Georgia, Oregon, and Pennsylvania.
