This role plays a key part in supporting pharmacy benefit management operations that directly impact healthcare access for vulnerable populations. You will work at the intersection of business analysis, clinical pharmacy data, and system configuration to ensure accurate and effective Preferred Drug List (PDL) and rebate implementations. The position involves collaborating closely with pharmacy clinicians, technical teams, and client stakeholders to translate complex requirements into functional system configurations. You will also contribute to improving operational processes, enhancing data accuracy, and supporting regulatory and client compliance needs. A strong analytical mindset is essential, as you will evaluate rebate scenarios, analyze drug data, and validate system changes through structured testing. This role is responsible for supporting the configuration, analysis, testing, and optimization of Preferred Drug List (PDL) and supplemental rebate systems within pharmacy benefit management operations.
- Support the implementation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of PDL and supplemental rebate systems for client accounts.
- Collaborate with pharmacy clinicians and subject matter experts to translate requirements into accurate system configurations.
- Analyze and model rebate scenarios to provide data-driven insights that support client and business decision-making.
- Execute system updates related to drug lists and rebate structures, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational integrity.
- Design, document, and recommend improvements to business processes supporting pharmacy benefit management operations.
- Conduct testing of PDL and rebate system changes, validating functionality, accuracy, and performance.
- Review and approve test results to ensure all business and technical requirements are met.
- Utilize analytical tools such as Excel or SQL to assess data, quantify impact, and support reporting needs.
- Support ongoing operational activities, including configuration updates and issue resolution for established accounts.
This role requires strong analytical capabilities, pharmacy domain knowledge, and experience working with healthcare or PBM systems in a data-driven environment.
- 4+ years of experience in pharmacy business analysis, pharmacy technician roles, or PBM-related environments (Medicaid experience preferred).
- Strong understanding of pharmacy claims, including NDCs, DAW codes, GPI, and drug pricing models (WAC, AWP, MAC).
- Experience working with drug file structures or rebate data (e.g., FDB, Medispan, or Micromedex).
- Solid understanding of configuration, data processing, and basic programming or system logic concepts.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and/or SQL for data analysis and reporting.
- Experience with requirement tracking or lifecycle tools (e.g., ALM tools) is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex healthcare data.
- Excellent communication skills to translate technical and business requirements across stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
