Business Development Manager - Power Geotech Construction (PDE)

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Business Development Manager - Power Geotech Construction (PDE) in United States.

This is a high-impact, field-driven business development role focused on driving growth across geotechnical and geohazard mitigation projects within the energy and heavy civil infrastructure sectors. You will operate at the intersection of technical engineering and strategic sales, identifying high-value opportunities and converting them into long-term client partnerships. The role requires a strong ability to engage with engineers, consultants, and infrastructure stakeholders while translating complex geotechnical challenges into practical, design-build solutions. You will be responsible for owning the full pursuit lifecycle, from opportunity identification to proposal development and deal closure. Working closely with internal engineering, estimating, and operations teams, you will help shape competitive, value-driven project strategies. This position is ideal for a technically grounded, relationship-oriented professional who thrives in fast-paced, field-based environments.

Accountabilities:
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across energy, power, oil & gas, renewable energy, and heavy civil infrastructure markets within assigned territories.
  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with key stakeholders including clients, consultants, and industry influencers.
  • Lead end-to-end pursuit management including opportunity qualification, solution development, proposal creation, and bid strategy execution.
  • Collaborate with engineering, estimating, and operations teams to design competitive design-build solutions aligned with client needs.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and trade associations to expand market presence and generate leads.
  • Maintain structured account plans and pipeline activity using CRM tools to track engagement and performance.
  • Provide market intelligence, competitive insights, and regional feedback to support broader sales and engineering strategy.
  • Ensure client satisfaction through responsive communication, proactive follow-up, and long-term relationship management.

Requirements:

  • 8–10+ years of experience in technical sales, business development, or client-facing engineering roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related technical field required.
  • Strong experience in geotechnical, energy, or heavy civil infrastructure sectors strongly preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is an advantage.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, solution-oriented sales cycles in technical environments.
  • Strong understanding of construction practices, design-build models, and infrastructure project delivery.
  • Experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce; familiarity with estimating tools is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strong networking capability within regional construction, engineering, and energy markets.
  • Willingness to travel regularly within assigned territory (CA, CO, LA, OR, TX, WA preferred).
  • Self-driven, resilient, and comfortable operating in fast-paced, field-based environments.

Benefits:

  • Competitive on-target earnings (OTE) between $150,000 – $175,000 USD annually.
  • Base salary range of $95,000 – $105,000 USD depending on experience and location.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance plans.
  • Mental health support and employee wellness programs.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match.
  • Paid parental leave.
  • Flexible paid time off in addition to 7 company-observed holidays.
  • Opportunity to work on critical infrastructure and geohazard mitigation projects with national impact.
  • Strong field-based autonomy with high visibility across key accounts and markets.
