Job Description
The Dispensing Floor Lead serves as a cross-functional liaison supporting all floor operations, including Production, Shipping, Data Entry, Patient Care, and First Impressions. This role is centered on enhancing communication, streamlining workflows, and proactively identifying and resolving operational barriers within the pharmacy. It is anticipated that this role will evolve over time to accommodate ever-changing business needs, so flexibility is paramount.
The ideal candidate is highly communicative, solutions-oriented, and skilled at navigating fast-paced environments while ensuring alignment across departments.
Key Responsibilities
First Impressions Development & Support
- Provide ongoing up-training to First Impressions team members, building their capacity to independently troubleshoot issues (e.g., filling or producing RXs for waiters, resolving payment concerns).
- Serve as the primary point of contact for First Impressions when questions arise, reducing workflow interruptions and unnecessary reliance on the pharmacist.
- Monitor front-of-house workflow to remove operational barriers before they impact service levels.
Production Expediting
- Support the production team by identifying, tracking, and prioritizing items in need of production.
- Communicate with the lab to verify whether “missing” items are in the queue and facilitate timely completion.
- Offer hands-on production support during staffing shortages, callouts, or illness, without becoming permanently absorbed into production activities.
Shipping & Phone Staff Coordination
- Act as the liaison between shipping and patient care staff to ensure orders move accurately between pickup and shipment as needed.
- Assist in communication when the shipping department is not reachable by Slack or phone, ensuring timely action and issue resolution.
- Track order changes initiated by phone staff and verify alignment with shipping adjustments.
Order Management & Workflow Facilitation
- Regularly review the order queue to identify priorities and maintain workflow momentum.
- Help ensure orders are fulfilled promptly, resolving bottlenecks by coordinating across departments.
- Support daily operational flow and escalate issues to leadership when needed.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year experience in customer service
- Pharmacy Technician Registration

- Ability to set the tone and create a positive patient experience
- Ability to handle a variety of customer service issues.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to lift 40 lbs.
- Must be collaborative and able to perform as part of a team

- Knowledge of applicable pharmacy software(s).
- Ability to operate a cash register.
