Job Summary
City Brewery in La Crosse, WI, has immediate opportunities for a Brewing Associate. This position is responsible for operating brewing equipment, CIP systems, monitoring fermentation, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation, and ensuring all processes follow safety and quality standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor automated brewing systems.
- Accurately brewing recipes and SOP’s to ensure consistent product quality.
- Perform routing quality checks on wort and fermentation processes & reporting deviations to supervisors.
- Record and input productions data, batch logs and measurements into brewery software systems.
- Execute CIP and SIP cycles on brewing vessels and lines to maintain hygiene and prevent contamination.
- Handle raw ingredients such as malt, hops, yeast and flavor additives with proper inventory rotation and usage tracking.
- Monitor and adjust fermentation conditions per product specifications.
- Follow all safety protocols including use of PPE, confined space entry and chemical handling protocols.
- Identify and report mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of brewing areas and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, HSED or relevant work experience required.
- Previous experience in food or beverage manufacturing preferred.
- Ability to complete mathematical recipe conversions.
- Must be 18 years old.
- Must be able to push, pull, drag & lift up to 100 pounds.
- Must be willing to complete confined space entry training.
- Highly motivated, self-directed individual that is able to work autonomously in a fast-paced, often loud manufacturing environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with teammates of varying skills and backgrounds.
- Effective analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
- Must be able to work any and all shifts, weekends and overtime as assigned.
- Must be able to pass a post-offer drug screening, functional capacity exam and background check.
