Job Description

Summary:
Responsible for all front of the house aspects of banquets, which includes planning, preparing, and executing banquet activities with a goal of ensuring that guests have a favorable banquet experience. Provides quality service to casino guests in a professional, efficient and profitable manner, which promotes superior team member, guest and vendor relations.
Essential Functions:
• Coordinates with meeting planners and Group Sales team prior to event to ensure requirements are being met.
• Read and interpret banquet event orders making sure all information is accurate and available for staff including, but not limited to: guest counts, serve times, menu selections, audio/visual and any other special requests are prepared on time.
• Continually monitors banquet function(s) as assigned and informs Group Sales team of any problems that need to be addressed; interact with the client to respond to any special requests or last-minute adjustments.
• Continually works with all kitchen staff to ensure that food items are appropriately cooked and delivered in a timely manner; act as liaison to the food and beverage team members, letting them know what food may need to be replenished.
• Responsible for ensuring catered items are presented well, served and removed from banquet at the proper times.
• Continually ensures that all rented linen is properly bagged and shipped back, all in house linen is placed in proper bins to be washed.
• Responsible for banquet setup, teardown, clean up and decorating of banquet rooms before, during, and after all banquets, as well as the general maintenance of banquet areas.
• Responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of the entire work area.
• Attends BEO meeting(s) in the absence of the Group Sales team.
• Inventories and stores supplies and equipment.
• Remains up-to-date on property events and hours of operation for all property amenities.
• Operates and maintains office equipment which includes, but not limited to: computer, programmable telephone system, programmable fax, and multi-use photocopier.
• Complies with all applicable laws, policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Provides a high standard of professionalism and guest service.
• Must maintain confidentiality.
• Performs other duties or special projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Minimum Requirements):
• Must be at least 18 years or older.
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• One (1) year experience in food service or catering.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Class 12 or 13 Mixology (MAST) permit.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Washington State Food Handler’s Card.
• Must successfully complete Title 31, Banking Secrecy Act training, if applicable, upon hire and annually.
• Must successfully pass TIPS training upon hire and annually thereafter.
• Ability to understand, speak, communicate and read the English language.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to analyze data from multiple information ports by comparing and contrasting data to draw a conclusion or to identify trends.
• Ability to communicate professionally in written, verbal, and non-verbal format while portraying a friendly tone, word choice, and body language.
• Must be computer literate with proficiency in windows-based programs and knowledge to operate general office equipment, software and databases.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license.
• Ability to work various shifts including evenings, holidays, weekends, and overtime.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a non-gaming permit.
Physical Demands:
• Manual and finger dexterity as required to perform daily job duties.
• Ability to frequently walk, sit, and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to occasionally drag, push and/or pull up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to frequently bend, squat and/or reach.
• Sufficient visual acuity to write, recognize printed materials, computer screen, and notice non-verbal behavior.
• Speech and hearing ability to project voice to small and large audiences, carry on radio/telephone conversations, hear and grasp verbal communications and equipment prompts.
• Must be able to drive in adverse weather conditions.
• Occasionally works near or around electricity.
• Occasionally works near or around mechanical moving parts.
• Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Frequently exposed to a high level of noise in the work environment.
• Frequently exposed to tobacco smoke.
• Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
