Scope of work

Position Summary

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations and ensuring that production targets, quality standards, and delivery schedules are achieved. This role manages production teams, coordinates manufacturing schedules, and works closely with engineering, quality, and logistics teams to support efficient and consistent production operations.

The Production Manager plays a key role in maintaining productivity, managing workforce performance, and supporting process improvements within the facility.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Manufacturing Oversight

  • Manage daily manufacturing operations including silk screen printing, laser marking, and related production processes.
  • Execute production plans and schedules to meet output and delivery requirements.
  • Monitor production performance including productivity, yield, downtime, and quality results.
  • Ensure efficient use of labor, equipment, and materials.

Team Leadership & Workforce Management

  • Supervise production supervisors, team leaders, technicians, and operators across approximately 50–60 production employees.
  • Coordinate staffing, shift schedules, and daily workforce allocation.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to production staff.
  • Maintain strong team engagement and operational discipline on the production floor.

Quality & Process Control

  • Ensure production processes follow established work instructions and quality standards.
  • Work with Quality and Engineering teams to address production issues and support corrective actions.
  • Monitor product quality and support initiatives to improve consistency and reduce defects.

Operational Efficiency & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, workflow, and equipment utilization.
  • Support implementation of lean manufacturing practices and process improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor production metrics and implement corrective actions when targets are not met.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and operational procedures.
  • Promote safe work practices and maintain a safe production environment.
  • Support implementation of workplace organization and 5S standards.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Coordinate with Customer Service, Engineering, Quality, and Logistics teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment.
  • Support production readiness for new customer programs or product launches.
  • Provide production reports and updates to operations leadership.

Travel Requirement

  • This position requires regular travel based on business needs, including visits to company locations, vendors, and/or other business-related activities. Travel may be up to 20%-30% of the time.
  • Candidates must be able to meet the travel requirements of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation, in accordance with applicable laws.
Requirements:

Background Expectations

Education

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, or related field preferred.

Experience

  • 5–7 years of manufacturing or production experience.
  • At least 2–3 years in a supervisory or production leadership role.
  • Experience managing production teams in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience in printing, packaging, plastics, or consumer product manufacturing is a plus.

Skills

  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations and production workflows.
  • Ability to analyze production metrics and support operational improvements.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and coordination skills.

Additional Qualifications

  • Familiarity with ERP systems and production reporting tools preferred.
  • English required; Spanish or Chinese language skills are a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
