Behavioral Health Technician Assistant Manager – Hickory Treatment Centers
Department: Behavioral Health
Direct Report To: BHT Manager
The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) Assistant Manager is an integral member of the administrative and treatment team, to ensure the implementation and integration of the person-centered treatment plan. This position will function in a supervisory role during evening and weekend shifts, providing direct oversight to Behavioral Health Technicians, monitor client experience, and seamlessly integrate client needs into their stay in the residential treatment program.
Under the immediate supervision of the BHT Manager, The BHT Assistant Manager will be responsible for the direct oversight of Behavioral Health Technicians, addressing both client and employee needs during evening and weekend shifts.

- Associate degree preferred in a Behavioral Health Field
- At minimum 1 year Management experience required.
- An ability to learn quickly, multi-task, and utilize effective communication skills, including both telephone and in-person.
- Positive demeanor and clear understanding of professional boundaries with clients.
- Knowledge of addiction and substance use disorders.
- Ability to follow directives explicitly, adhere to facility policies, provide client-driven customer service, and exercise time management skills.
- Scheduling flexibility, holiday, and weekend rotation is REQUIRED, with on-call assignments as needed.
- Must hold a valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
Client Engagement & Treatment Support
- Provide consistent, daily, appropriate engagement with clients to support implementation of the treatment plan
- Ensure all clients attend individual and group treatment sessions and follow the daily order of events
- Make frequent rounds of the facility to monitor client behavior and needs
- Coordinate weekend and evening BHT-led activities that complement the clinical program schedule
- Serve as the point of contact for evening or weekend visitors (group leaders, facilitators) ensuring they are greeted, and appropriate team members are notified.
Documentation & Treatment Support
- Use the EMR to accurately document all client engagements with concise, fluid communication.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of client information and records in accordance with HIPAA
Professional Conduct & Team Participation
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and maintain professional boundaries, appearance, demeanor, and communication
- Attend all staff meetings and training courses as directed by the BHT Manager
- Participate in performance improvement activities
- Fulfill BHT work assignments when needed
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the BHT Manager or Executive Director
Safety, Infection Control & Facility Support
- Report safety hazards immediately
- Maintain cleanliness and functional order of the facility environment
- Practice infection control procedures, including proper PPE use and hand hygiene.
