This is a senior design leadership opportunity focused on shaping the vision and experience strategy for a complex, AI-centric product area.
You will lead and grow a high-performing team of product designers while establishing a strong culture of craft, experimentation, and customer focus.
The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on influence across product, engineering, research, content, design systems, and go-to-market teams.
You will turn sophisticated risk-management workflows into intuitive, scalable experiences for enterprise customers and diverse business stakeholders.
Your work will help define new approaches to automation, extensibility, reporting, and AI-powered risk management.
You will influence product strategy through customer research, systems thinking, compelling narratives, and measurable design outcomes.

- Set the vision and design strategy for the product area, translating broader business objectives into clear design priorities, outcomes, and execution plans.
- Lead, mentor, hire, and develop a high-performing team of product designers while fostering a culture centered on craft, experimentation, accountability, and customer obsession.
- Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Research, Content Design, Design Systems, and Go-to-Market teams to shape product strategy and deliver cohesive customer experiences.
- Translate complex, data-rich risk management workflows into intuitive and scalable experiences for security, compliance, IT, legal, finance, and business users.
- Design connected workflows spanning risks, assets, vendors, controls, tasks, frameworks, owners, approvals, and organizational structures.
- Guide the creation of enterprise-grade risk registers, dashboards, reporting tools, and workflows that provide customers with actionable visibility into their risk posture.
- Lead customer discovery and research with users and customers to identify meaningful problems, validate concepts, and continuously improve experiences.
- Establish a high bar for interaction design, visual design, information architecture, accessibility, content, and overall product quality.
- Influence product roadmaps and investment decisions through strong design perspectives, customer insights, prototypes, and compelling storytelling.
- Develop frameworks, processes, and operating practices that help design teams make effective decisions, move quickly, and maintain consistency across complex experiences.
- Partner with Design Systems teams to create and evolve reusable patterns that enable scalable and coherent product experiences.
- Bring structure and clarity to ambiguous problems and align cross-functional teams around a shared customer-experience vision.
- Define and measure design impact through customer outcomes, adoption, usability, efficiency, and business results.
- Shape AI-powered experiences that make risk management more proactive and accessible while applying sound judgment around transparency, trust, privacy, and responsible AI use.
- Represent Design in leadership meetings, planning processes, product reviews, and other strategic forums.
- Contribute to the broader design organization through mentorship, knowledge sharing, best-practice development, and leadership of design initiatives.
- 10+ years of experience designing digital products, including substantial product design leadership experience in complex B2B SaaS or enterprise software environments.
- 4+ years of experience managing and developing product designers, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and career development.
- Proven ability to establish design direction for a product area and translate company strategy into clear team priorities and measurable outcomes.
- Strong track record designing intuitive workflows for complex, data-rich, highly configurable, or interconnected products.
- Excellent product and systems-thinking capabilities, with the ability to understand relationships between users, objects, workflows, and business processes.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with Product and Engineering leadership to shape strategy, prioritize investments, and deliver high-quality products.
- Deep knowledge of customer-centered design practices, including qualitative research, journey mapping, prototyping, usability testing, and iterative development.
- Strong interaction design, information architecture, visual design, and storytelling skills, supported by a portfolio demonstrating high-quality product work.
- Experience with risk management, cybersecurity, compliance, GRC, IT, infrastructure, financial services, or another complex or regulated domain is a plus.
- Familiarity with design systems and experience developing scalable patterns that promote consistency across growing products.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence executives, cross-functional partners, and customers.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity, making sound decisions with incomplete information, and balancing strategic thinking with a bias toward action.
- Collaborative leadership style with a demonstrated ability to build trust, encourage diverse perspectives, and align teams around a shared vision.
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring current or future employer sponsorship.
- Strong commitment to protecting company and customer data through responsible team practices and product delivery.
- Curiosity about AI and willingness to use AI tools to amplify capabilities, improve efficiency, and strengthen design work responsibly.
- Base salary range of $275,000–$323,000, depending on location, skills, experience, credentials, and other relevant factors.
