Now Hiring: Executive Housekeeper
Location: TownePlace Suites by Marriott, Joplin, MO

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Leads, trains, coaches, and develops housekeeping team members, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, recognition, engagement, and progressive discipline.
  • Oversees daily housekeeping operations, including guest rooms, public areas, laundry, storage, and department work areas, ensuring efficient and consistent service.
  • Schedules and assigns team members based on occupancy forecasts, business needs, labor standards, productivity, and service requirements.
  • Conducts routine inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness, condition, presentation, and quality meet OHM, brand, and property standards.
  • Ensures accurate and timely communication of room status, priorities, special requests, and maintenance concerns with Front Office and other departments.
  • Maintains high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, organization, and presentation throughout all housekeeping areas.
  • Assists the General Manager and other property leadership with departmental budgeting, forecasting, labor planning, cost control, and operational goals.
  • Monitors staffing, productivity, inventory, linen, supplies, chemicals, and equipment to promote efficient operations and effective cost management.
  • Oversees the ordering, receiving, storage, rotation, and distribution of housekeeping supplies and equipment.
  • Ensures proper handling, security, documentation, and return of guest lost-and-found items in accordance with company procedures.
  • Identifies maintenance and repair needs and coordinates with engineering to ensure guest rooms, public areas, and equipment are properly maintained.
  • Ensures compliance with OHM, brand, OSHA, health and safety, sanitation, quality assurance, and operational standards.
  • Responds to guest concerns and service issues promptly and professionally, taking appropriate action to support guest satisfaction and deliver world-class guest service.
  • Collaborates with front office, engineering, laundry, and other property leadership to coordinate operational needs and maintain a seamless guest experience.
  • Performs hands-on housekeeping duties and assists with room cleaning, inspections, laundry, public areas, and other operational needs as business demands require.
  • Maintains professional appearance, attendance, and conduct; follows all OHM, brand, property, and departmental policies and procedures; and performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

  • Have computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, etc.

Education & Experience:

  • Two years’ experience as an assistant executive housekeeper and two years of housekeeping experience in a commercial environment in a supervisory capacity preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year in a housekeeping role; hotel experience preferred.
  • Minimum of a high school education or equivalent, associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Hours:

  • Due to the nature of the business, scheduling may vary and include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements of the Position:

  • Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time), and/or up to 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 to 2/3 of the time), and/or a 10 to 20 of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists up to 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects.
  • Requires walking or standing to a significant degree.

Physical Activity of the Position:

  • Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, picking/pinching with fingers, typing, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motion.

Visual Acuity Requirements:

  • Requires sufficient visual acuity to inspect guest rooms, public areas, furnishings, equipment, and cleaning results for cleanliness, condition, accuracy, and adherence to established standards.
