Mission of Dental Assistant
They Dental Assistant reports to the Practice Administrator. The mission of the Dental Assistant is to help facilitate patient understanding of the treatment needed as well assisting the doctor with chair side dental procedures. The Dental Assistant is accountable for creating a relationship with patients, assisting the doctor to increase doctor production. The Dental Assistant must be knowledgeable about dentistry and be able to work with the doctor in a wider variety of dental procedures.

Key Performance Indicators
- Doctor production/Hygiene Production
- Same day procedures
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Seat patients, ensure comfort, update health histories, and record vital signs.
- Chairside Assisting: Fully prepare treatment rooms and assist the dentist across a wide variety of clinical procedures.
- Clinical Tasks: Take digital X-rays, take and pour impressions, and manage required lab work.
- Independent Duties: Perform autonomous tasks within the dental assistant scope of practice (e.g., seating crowns, adjusting dentures, and applying fluoride).
- Patient Education: Clearly explain dental procedures and post-operative care to patients.
- Sanitation & Maintenance: Sterilize clinical instruments, clean and set up treatment rooms, and handle routine equipment upkeep.
- Inventory Control: Order dental supplies, restock treatment rooms, and organize incoming inventory.
- General Support: Perform other operational duties as assigned by leadership.
