Description:

Electrical Operations Manager

Salary: $110,000–$120,000 annually

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Operations Manager to oversee daily field, service and project operations for our client.

This hands-on leadership role manages approximately 10–20 employees and is responsible for workforce scheduling, job-site oversight, customer communication, job costing and operational profitability. The ideal candidate can take ownership of daily operations, solve problems independently and keep the owner informed without requiring constant direction.

Regular travel throughout Central Florida is required, particularly around Sumterville, Thonotosassa, Sarasota, Bradenton, Largo and Dunedin. Occasional overnight travel within Florida may be necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily electrical service, construction and field operations.
  • Lead, schedule and support electricians, helpers and service personnel.
  • Visit job sites to monitor safety, quality, productivity, budgets and schedules.
  • Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, vehicles and inspections.
  • Resolve scheduling, staffing, customer and field issues before they affect project performance.
  • Monitor employee attendance, productivity, work quality and professional conduct.
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, coaching and employee retention.
  • Track labor hours, material usage, purchase orders, change orders and job costs.
  • Identify over-budget or delayed projects and implement corrective action.
  • Review customer and vendor invoices for accuracy and complete documentation.
  • Coordinate with customers, general contractors, inspectors, vendors and office personnel.
  • Ensure service tickets, time records, job reports and completion documents are accurate and timely.
  • Assist with estimates, site visits, scope reviews and change orders when qualified.
  • Oversee and support emergency and on-call operations as needed.
  • Develop and enforce procedures that improve field and office coordination.

Required Qualifications

  • At least five years of experience in electrical construction, electrical service, commercial construction or a related skilled-trades environment. (An electrical license is not required.)
  • Experience supervising electricians, technicians, field crews or construction employees.
  • Working knowledge of electrical field operations.
  • Experience with workforce scheduling, field supervision and project coordination.
  • Understanding of labor productivity, material management, job costing, invoicing and profitability.
  • Ability to interpret plans, specifications, scopes of work and project documentation.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple jobs, employees and changing priorities.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout Central Florida.
  • Comfortable using email, spreadsheets, scheduling platforms and job-management systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as an Operations Manager, Service Manager, Field Operations Manager, Senior Project Manager or General Superintendent for an electrical contractor.
  • Experience managing multiple electrical projects or service teams.
  • Estimating, takeoff, proposal or change-order experience.
  • Experience reviewing job-cost reports, invoices, purchase orders, payroll and project financials.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 training.
  • Experience helping an electrical contractor expand its workforce or service area.

Schedule and Travel

  • Monday through Friday, typically 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
  • Longer days may occasionally be required.
  • Regular daytime travel throughout Central Florida.
  • Occasional overnight travel within Florida.
  • No routine out-of-state travel anticipated.

Compensation and Benefits

  • $110,000–$120,000 annual salary, based on experience.
  • Company-provided vehicle.
  • Two weeks of vacation after six months.
  • 401(k) plan.
  • Profit-sharing opportunities.
  • Reimbursement toward health-insurance costs.

The successful candidate will be visible in the field, hold employees accountable, communicate problems early, protect customer relationships and profitability, and confidently manage routine operations without requiring the owner’s constant involvement.
