Leadperson, Armtec Defense Technologies
Armtec Defense Technologies (Armtec) is an operating unit of the TransDigm Group (NYSE: TDG), an industry leader in aerospace and defense products and services. Armtec is comprised of three business units producing subcomponents for ordnance in Coachella, CA; decoy countermeasure flares in Camden AR; and radar countermeasure chaff in Lillington NC. This position is staffed in Coachella, at Armtec’s world-class, sole-source production facility for felted fiber nitrocellulose combustible cartridge cases for medium and large caliber military ammunition; and pyrophoric payloads for training grenades.

- Assists with work activities based on priorities given, uses time efficiently, assists in developing realistic action plans and improves efficiencies.
- Must oversee and maintain accurate production records.
- Assists in the training of new employees.
- Must have good communication skills, verbal and written ability.
- Must be able to work with support groups in the accomplishment of daily and special tasks.
- Will assist in identifying and correcting upset conditions.
- Will assist in maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Must have knowledge of Continuous Improvement Tools that may include SPC application, problem solving, and corrective action.
- Keeps commitments; completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person.
- Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above
- Understand and live by Armtec’s ethics and business conduct policies
- Must exhibit good judgment, leadership and communication skills.
- Must have organizational skills.
- Must be able to speak, write, and read English.
- Must have good math skills.
- Must understand and be familiar with Work Instructions and Quality System.
- Must have the ability to assist in the daily assignment of tasks.
- Must be able to promote a positive and professional environment.
- Must be dependable, responsible, and accurate and have the ability to deal with people effectively.
- Demonstrate ability in the Armtec competencies as an employee: customer focus, ethics and values, problem solving, integrity and trust, functional/technical skills, listening, action-oriented, composure and values diversity.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- To conform to U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorization from the U.S. Government.
