This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an eDiscovery Project Director based in the United States.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced project professional to oversee complex eDiscovery initiatives and strategic client engagements.
You’ll manage high-value projects from planning and execution through delivery, ensuring scope, quality, budget, timelines, and client expectations remain aligned.
The role combines portfolio leadership, client partnership, team management, risk management, and operational excellence across a global environment.
You’ll serve as a trusted escalation point, proactively identifying challenges and guiding teams toward effective solutions.
Beyond project delivery, you’ll help strengthen PMO practices, coach project professionals, and contribute to process improvement and internal education.
You’ll also support business development through client engagement, industry participation, sales presentations, and customized project solutions.

- Create and maintain comprehensive project schedules covering activities, sequencing, dependencies, effort, duration, milestones, and resource requirements.
- Manage multiple portfolios of project and program management services, overseeing analysis, execution, delivery, and strategic initiatives across the organization.
- Establish, negotiate, communicate, implement, and monitor quality standards for project deliverables.
- Plan and manage internal and external project communications, ensuring timely and effective exchange of project information, decisions, and deliverables.
- Forecast, track, and manage project budgets, spending, and invoices, including oversight of projects with significant financial scope.
- Provide senior leadership with clear reporting on project, program, and portfolio health to support informed governance and decision-making.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects and project teams while maintaining delivery quality, timelines, and client satisfaction.
- Generate and distribute project metrics, request volumes, KPIs, and other operational reporting on a regular basis.
- Lead and support junior project professionals, sharing expertise and strengthening project management capabilities across teams.
- Provide leadership, coaching, training, and support to multiple teams while serving as a primary escalation point for complex issues.
- Monitor delivery against business objectives and client experience expectations for PMO services.
- Support project scoping and resource allocation, helping portfolio leaders determine appropriate teams and project managers for incoming engagements.
- Collaborate with other Project Directors on vertical and organization-wide initiatives, serving as a subject-matter expert when required.
- Develop and deliver internal education, process improvement initiatives, and project management best practices using PMO knowledge and external industry expertise.
- Establish a reputation as an internal and external expert on broad initiatives related to project and PMO execution.
- Maintain strong knowledge of service offerings and represent capabilities effectively in client-facing and business development situations.
- Develop strategic external relationships through industry events, presentations, publications, thought leadership groups, and other professional activities.
- Participate in business development with existing and prospective clients, including sales presentations and relationship-building activities.
- Serve as a key client contact for incoming projects and industry-related inquiries.
- Develop customized project protocols and non-standard operating procedures for clients with master service agreements or ongoing engagements.
- Identify and qualify project risks, issues, dependencies, and scope changes, ensuring they are tracked and addressed through established PMO processes and tools.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- PMP certification or equivalent project management experience required; additional project management certifications or formal training are a plus.
- 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in project management, program management, or closely related disciplines.
- Proven experience managing large, complex projects with total project spending in the $1 million–$15 million range.
- In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, PMBOK principles, project management tools, and established PMO processes.
- Strong technical proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard project management software.
- Demonstrated ability to manage client expectations, maintain satisfaction, and build trusted long-term relationships.
- Highly proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to anticipate client needs and address challenges before they escalate.
- Strong ability to respond quickly and effectively to unexpected or high-impact project issues.
- Demonstrated experience managing project teams, including teams that include supporting project managers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, stakeholder-management, and client-facing skills.
- Strong leadership capabilities, with the ability to coach, influence, motivate, and develop individuals and teams.
- Comfortable working collaboratively across geographies, functions, and organizational levels.
- Flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to manage changing priorities and complex client requirements.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may periodically exceed a standard 40-hour work week based on project and client needs.
