You will also contribute to payroll accounting activities, tax reporting, and year-end reconciliation processes.
This is a detail-oriented role where precision, confidentiality, and strong analytical skills are essential.
It is well-suited for someone who thrives in structured yet evolving corporate environments and enjoys end-to-end payroll ownership.

Accountabilities:

  • Handle payroll-related accounts payable tasks when required.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Prepare and post payroll journal entries and support financial reporting activities.
  • Review and validate payroll tax filings, including quarterly reports and year-end reconciliations.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve payroll discrepancies and data inconsistencies.
  • Maintain accurate, secure, and confidential payroll records in compliance with policies.
  • Collaborate closely with HR and Finance teams to ensure payroll accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Use payroll systems such as ADP to process, validate, and update payroll data.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • PCP payroll certification is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in full-cycle payroll processing.
  • Strong experience preparing payroll journal entries and payroll-related reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with payroll systems, preferably ADP.
  • Exposure to accounts payable payroll functions is an asset.
  • Experience with payroll tax reporting and year-end processes is highly desirable.
  • Background in corporate or multi-province payroll environments is an advantage.
  • Experience in insurance or financial services industries is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and data analysis.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and confidentiality standards.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Benefits:

  • Hourly compensation of approximately $27.
  • 4-month full-time contract (37.5 hours per week).
  • Fully remote work arrangement within Canada (Ontario-based flexibility).
  • Standard weekday schedule (8:00 am – 4:00 pm) with occasional flexibility required.
  • Opportunity to work in a structured corporate payroll environment.
  • Exposure to complex payroll operations within a regulated industry.
