Job Description:

PROJECT/TASK SR MANAGER
The Project Task/Senior Manager (Project Management Lead) is responsible for establishing and governing a unified project management framework across PTAC. This role provides strategic direction, ensures consistent execution, and delivers portfolio‑level visibility to support predictable delivery and informed decision‑making. The position partners closely within PTAC and across the GSE&SC+ Program to strengthen coordination, improve efficiency, and enhance the overall project experience for teams and the customer.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

• Own, maintain, and improve the project management framework, including processes, templates, and tools.
• Lead governance activities including milestone reviews, risk escalation, quality checks, and portfolio oversight.
• Drive visibility and prioritization across all initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Publish executive‑level dashboards summarizing status, risks, dependencies, and resourcing needs.
• Provide direction, coaching, and workload balancing for project managers and task leads.
• Ensure consistent execution of project planning, scheduling, tracking, and delivery practices.
• Identify risks and issues early, manage escalations, and support cross‑functional problem‑solving.
• Build strong partnerships across PTAC, customer, and other stakeholder groups.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery effectiveness.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your program management expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Project/Task Sr Manager must have:

• Experience leading project or program management functions in a technical or operational environment.
• Demonstrated ability to establish frameworks, governance models, and standardized processes.
• Strong skills in planning, risk management, prioritization, and cross‑functional coordination.
• Ability to synthesize complex information into clear executive‑level communications.
• Experience coaching or managing project managers or cross‑functional contributors.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

This is a supervisory position that will oversee multiple project managers and report to the PTB Operations Deputy. When required, this position may be tasked to provide reach-back support on behalf of the Deputy.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with portfolio management or project intake/prioritization processes.
• Familiarity with Engineering and Operations workflows and interdependencies.
• Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PMI‑ACP) preferred but not required.

Qualifications

Minimum of five years of experience or the equivalent combination of education/training and/or experience/military training. Prior Supervisory experience Familiarity with the Dept of State or Government processes and procedures preferred but not required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance with the ability to obtain TOP SECRET. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, SharePoint, and mobile applications.

The likely salary range for this position is $148,750 - $201,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
