The School of Nursing, Master of Nursing program requires the services of a Subject Matter Expert to teach the theory in NURS 6220.
This course explores the foundation of teaching in nursing, focusing on the understanding and development of core competencies for nurse educators. Emphasis is placed on teaching and learning theories, pedagogical methods, and nursing educational research, preparing participants for various nursing practice roles. The course prepares students to explore and critically examine the philosophical, theoretical, and ethical perspectives, informing teaching and learning in nursing.
• PhD or Doctorate recommended; Master’s degree required;
• Holds a minimum of one (1) degree in nursing;
• Five (5) years of full-time or equivalent hours of nursing experience;
• Evidence of continuous learning in the field of expertise;
• Experience teaching at a graduate level is an asset;
• Experience in an educator or leadership role in Indigenous health and wellness;
• Experience working with Indigenous partners;
• An understanding of, and experience in, the Canadian healthcare system;
• Current BCCNM registration in good standing without limits or conditions, or eligibility for registration with BCCNM prior to appointment
