We are seeking an enthusiastic and engaging Wellness Coordinator to create meaningful fitness and wellness experiences for our residents. In this role, you will lead and support a variety of land- and water-based fitness programs, encourage participation, and help foster a welcoming environment that promotes health, wellness, and social connection. You'll work closely with residents, staff, and community partners to coordinate classes, wellness events, health fairs, and special programs while ensuring a safe, clean, and enjoyable wellness center experience. As Wellness coordinator, you will be responsible for
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Models a service attitude towards others, takes ownership in solving problems and takes the initiative to make things better, is friendly and courteous to residents, patients and co-workers.
- Coordinate activities and classes in wellness center operation including collaborating with facility; interacting with participants, programs and equipment upkeep and participant safety.
- Instruct and lead land and water based programs in accordance with Facility Policies and State Regulations.
- Encourage and recruit participation in the Wellness program.
- Promote Wellness programming in collaboration with supervisor through internal marketing such as: flyers, monthly calendar of events, inservices, meet-and-greets, etc.
- Maintain Wellness participant data base for individual and group outcomes.
- Make rounds through exercise area and locker rooms to monitor for cleanliness, safety, and resident assistance needs.
- Collaborate with supervisor to develop and implement policies and procedures for both land and water based programs.
- Coordinate and oversee contracted health fitness services, i.e., Tai Chi, Yoga, etc. as needed.
- Collaborate with facility for Wellness/Health Fair for residents and employees on annual basis.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Community Rehabilitation Director.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preferred experience with mature adult exercise programming.
- Degree in Exercise Physiology or in Health and Fitness related field.
- Experience in Cardiac Rehab

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent communication skills including verbal, written and presentation.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to create an atmosphere of high energy and motivation to encourage participation in wellness program.
- Ability to develop internal and external relationships to support needs of the Wellness Program, i.e., collaborate with independent contractors and volunteers.
- Demonstrate computer proficiency. Prefer experience in Microsoft Office products and any Health and Wellness software.
- Ability to lead and instruct both land and water based exercise programs.
- Prefer CPR and Lifeguard Certification.
- Ability to perform Essential Duties as outlined below.
- Genuine caring for and interest in the care of mature adults, handicapped people and hospice Patients.
- Ability to perform work tasks within the Physical Demand Requirements as outlined below.
- Ability to comply with the Resident Bill of Rights and the Employee Responsibilities.
- Ability to comply with organizational and departmental safety policies and procedures
WORK CLIMATE:
- Position will work at the assigned facility, primarily indoors, with changing climate, some oversight of outdoor programs
WORK PACE:
- Self-paced, requiring the ability to work quickly and accurately in an often-times demanding work environment
