About This Position
The Body Shop Porter plays a key role in supporting daily operations of the collision center. This position ensures that vehicles and the facility are maintained in a clean and professional manner, while also assisting with the safe and timely transportation of vehicles to and from sublet vendors.
The Body Shop Manager supervises the Body Shop porter.
Essential Functions and Duties
· Wash and detail customer and company vehicles as directed.
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the body shop facility, including work areas, customer areas, and common spaces.
· Safely transport vehicles to and from sublet vendors (e.g., glass, alignment, mechanical shops).
· Assist body shop staff with moving vehicles within the lot and work areas as needed.
· Perform general facility upkeep, such as emptying trash, sweeping, and other light cleaning duties.
· Follow all safety protocols and dealership/company policies.
· Provide excellent internal support by ensuring vehicles are ready and presentable for customers and technicians.
· Other duties as assigned.
· Constructively communicate with other dealership personnel as required to satisfy customer needs.
· Report on management of any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its personnel, or customers.
· Maintain personal grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards according to departmental policies.
· Arrive at work, take breaks, and depart work at the times designated by management.
· Attend meetings and training as scheduled.
· Ensure that work areas and customer waiting areas are kept clean.
Performance Measurements
Success in this role will be measured by:
- Vehicle Readiness: Timely and thorough washing/detailing of vehicles, ensuring they are clean and presentable for delivery or internal use.
- Facility Cleanliness: Consistent upkeep of shop and customer areas to meet company appearance standards.
- Transport Timeliness: On-time and safe delivery/pickup of vehicles to/from sublet vendors, with no missed deadlines or damage incidents.
- Safety Compliance: Adherence to all safety guidelines and zero preventable accidents or violations.
- Team Support: Positive feedback from body shop staff and management regarding responsiveness and dependability.
- Attendance & Reliability: Maintaining consistent attendance, punctuality, and availability during scheduled work hours.

MINIMUM Hiring Requirements
· High school graduate or equivalent.
· 18 years or older
· Possess an acceptable driving record and a valid driver’s license in the state of residence.
· A criminal history background check will be conducted before beginning employment.
