Job Description
Assist the Pit Boss in slow smoking meats and other foods in J&R Oyler pits
Previous smoker experience helpful but not required
Learn food safety as related to smoking
Obtain a Food Handler Card as required by the County
Practice personal hygiene to ensure food safety
Load smokers with heavy product (up to 20 pounds)
Check smokers frequently
Watch training videos to heighten proficiency
Read training manuals to ensure compliance with all outlined procedures
Be prepared to be in cold (walk-in) and warm environments during shifts
Become a subject matter expert in all things related to BBQ
