Job Summary
The IT Specialist is responsible for providing a high level of operational availability and stability for both standard network and hotel industry specific technology. The role also entails providing a high level of IT support services to guests and staff as well, either on site or remotely, depending on business needs. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for technology and have strong interpersonal and team player skills. The ideal candidate must be able to deal with the challenges of a business that is open 24 hours a day. These challenges make this industry and this particular job both fascinating and demanding.
Job Specifications
Qualifications
• Basic networking methodologies.
• Experience working with Vlans, ACLs, Routing, and enterprise Wi-Fi.
• Management of Windows server.
• Understanding of Wi-Fi and how to resolve related issues.
• Desktop configuration and troubleshooting.
• Point of Sale and Property Management Software experience. Micros-Fidelio is a PLUS.
• Working knowledge of Backup operations with Computer Associates or similar.
• Must be a self-starter and self-motivated, and must demonstrate strong leadership skills
• Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and demands on a weekly, daily and hourly basis.
• Experience in the following products is a plus: Mitel & Vingcard
Job Duties
Job Specific
• Meet regularly with departments throughout corporation to solicit feedback on needs and projects
• Maintain High Availability standards for network and critical system resources
• Maintain behavior consistent with sexual harassment/hostile work environment policy dictated in the Team Member handbook.
• Reports to work as scheduled in accordance with the company's personal appearance standards
• Applies excellent guest relations skills when interacting with guests
• Observes hotel telephone etiquette, message, and call handling procedures
• Willing to work a weekly on-call rotation and weekends.
General
Promotes and applies teamwork skills at all times
Notifies appropriate individual promptly and fully of problems and/or unusual matters of significance
Is polite, friendly, and helpful to guests, management and fellow Team Members
Executes emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standards
Complies with required safety regulations and procedures
Attends appropriate hotel meetings and training sessions
Maintains cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work area
Complies with hotel standards, policies and rules
Recycles whenever possible
Remains current with hotel information and changes
Complies with hotel uniform and grooming standards
