POSITION OVERVIEW
We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, budgeting, and compliance. This role will focus on various accounting tasks, and insurance policies, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Management:
Oversee accounting tasks and support team members, including managing Accounting & Finance associate’s responsibilities.
Handle Payroll with HR and calculate yearly bonuses.
Insurance Management:
Oversee the company’s general liability, umbrella, property policies, and car insurance, including adding drivers.
Handle the renewal process for insurance.
Budget Creation:
Develop and manage budgets for each department, ensuring alignment with financial goals with department heads and General Manager.
Accounting Principles and Procedures:
Implement and uphold accounting principles and procedures across the organization.
Transaction Review: Weekly, monthly, and Quarterly
Review transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Odoo, and Mesh for accuracy and compliance.
Manage the books of LLC as well as JOUFFRE.
Sales Tax Management:
Calculate and file monthly sales tax, including preparing end-of-year sales tax allocation.
Fixed Assets Management:
Collaborate with the CPA for fixed asset management for quarterly or annual reporting.
Financial Reporting:
Upload general ledger (G/L) reports into QuickBooks Online (QBO) or Odoo.
Financial Analysis:
Conduct financial analysis and prepare quarterly closings to support strategic decision-making.
COI Requests:
Process Certificate of Insurance (COI) requests as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Knowledge of GAAP.
Previous experience with ADP and GL reports.
Knowledge of intercompany rebilling.
5 plus years of relevant accounting experience.
Proficient in QuickBooks Online.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
