Senior Accountant at SALSON LOGISTICS INC – NEWARK, New Jersey

Position Description: We are hiring a Senior Accountant to join our team in Newark, NJ. As a Senior Accountant, you will perform various accounting and analytical functions in order to assist in the preparation of the month, quarter and year-end financial statements. You will also assist in managing the accounting team in Newark.

• Mentor and assist with managing accounting staff
• Prepare monthly journal entries and accruals that include Payroll
• Prepare and provide various analysis for internal management
• Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations
• Analyze financial data
• Own Fixed Asset accounting that includes monthly depreciation, CAPEX and FA roll-forward monthly reporting
• Maintain leases in Lease Query in compliance with ASC 842 lease accounting that includes journal entries and reconciliations
• Publish the monthly draft P&Ls to all the General Managers
• Monthly calculations of Teamsters Pension and Union Dues
• Prepare weekly Independent Contractor settlement payments
• File annual business property tax statements
• Serve as back up for the AP Lead
• Serve as back up for the AR Lead
• Assist with external audit requests
• Prepare and maintain accounting and internal control documentations
• Other duties may be assigned as required

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Economics
• 5+ years of experience as an Accountant or similar role in a corporate environment
• Strong tax knowledge preferred
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
• environment.
