Job Description

Description:

Reports To: Shipping and Receiving Team Leader

Location: Dupo, IL — on-site in our manufacturing facility

Schedule: Day shift, Monday through Friday

Job Purpose: Serve as PRI’s first line of quality assurance by safely unloading, receiving, inspecting, and documenting all incoming materials, purchased components, and returned goods — ensuring that only materials meeting PRI specifications and purchase order requirements enter our facility and reach production.

Compensation: $19.00 – $23.00 per hour, based on experience

Job Definition:

PRI designs and manufactures solvent recycling, parts and container washing, filling and dispensing, and plastic recycling systems, as well as biowaste treatment systems such as effluent decontamination systems, tissue digesters, and autoclaves. Many of these systems are built to pressure vessel codes such as ASME, PED, and SELO, so the materials that go into them must be traceable and correct from the moment they arrive. The Receiving Associate unloads inbound freight using forklifts and overhead cranes; verifies every delivery against the packing list and purchase order; matches raw materials to their Mill Test Reports (MTRs); takes and records critical measurements on code materials; and tags each item to the correct job. The associate records receipts in the ERP system, documents and reports any damage, shortages, or non-conformances, and keeps the receiving area safe, organized, and ready for the next delivery. This role works closely with Purchasing, Inventory, Quality, Production, and Shipping, and helps with shipping and crating when needed.

Benefits & Perks

  • Health insurance through United Healthcare, effective the first of the month after a 30-day waiting period. PRI reimburses the balance of the deductible above the employee’s portion ($750 per person / $1,500 per family maximum).
  • Dental insurance and vision insurance available.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match — 100% of the first 3% you contribute plus 50% of the next 2%, for a 4% maximum match. Safe Harbor plan administered through Lincoln Financial, with all matching contributions immediately vested. An on-site financial advisor is available roughly four times a year.
  • Company-paid life insurance equal to one times your annual pay, with voluntary supplemental coverage available for you and your family.
  • Voluntary short-term and long-term disability insurance.
  • Flexible spending account (FSA) administered through Paylocity — set aside pre-tax dollars up to the annual IRS maximum for eligible medical and dependent care expenses.
  • Paid vacation and paid personal days, plus seven paid holidays per year.
  • Tuition reimbursement up to $5,250 per calendar year for job-related training and education.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offering confidential support for you and your household.
  • Employee referral program — $500 for each eligible candidate you refer who is hired.
  • Free on-site parking.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

Unloading & Receiving

  • Safely unload inbound trucks and deliveries using forklifts, overhead cranes, pallet jacks, and proper rigging practices.

  • Tag and label received items to the correct job or inventory location, and move materials to the proper staging or storage area.

Inspection & Material Traceability

  • Perform quality checks on incoming materials and purchased components before they are released to production.
  • Match raw materials (plate, sheet, pipe, tube, fittings, and flanges) to their Mill Test Reports (MTRs), verifying heat numbers, material grade, and specifications.
  • Take and record critical measurements on ASME, PED, and SELO materials using tape measures, calipers, and other measuring tools, and match all results to the purchase order.
  • Maintain organized, accurate receiving and MTR records to support material traceability and code compliance.
  • Identify and segregate non-conforming, damaged, or incorrect material; document non-conformances (NCRs) and notify Quality and Purchasing.

  • Report shortages, overages, and damaged freight to Purchasing; photograph and document damage to support freight claims.
  • Assist with return-to-vendor (RTV) shipments for incorrect or non-conforming material.
