About This Position

Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD) is seeking a collaborative and experienced project manager to join our team as a Capital Improvement Project Manager. This position is responsible for managing capital improvement projects that include parks, trails, and facilities.

The Capital Improvement Project Manager will coordinate and manage assigned capital improvement projects from initial planning and budgeting through implementation. The incumbent will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, they will be responsible for communications between local jurisdictions and governing bodies.

The typical schedule for this position is Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, with flexible hours. This role will require occasional evening hours to accommodate monthly meetings.

Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that would likely provide the applicant with the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

A bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited college with major course work in architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, facilities management, project management or other related fields, or equivalent work-life experience and five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in project management.

Two (2) years of experience managing projects in a governmental agency is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid Oregon driver's license and maintain a good driving record.
  • Registration as a landscape architect, architect, or engineer, desired.
  • Facilities management professional (FMP), certified facilities manager (CFM) or project management (PM) certification, desired.
  • Certified playground safety inspector (CPSI) desired and certification maintained thereafter.
