Dance Instructor in Buffalo, New York at The Jewish Center of Buffalo

The Dance Instructor of the JCC School of Dance will contribute to the vision, mission and values of the JCC by instructing classes for the growth and well-being of JCC members and community participants. The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate the following:

• educate students on current and up-to-date best dance practices that teach correct technique, alignment, warm-up and cool-down exercises that help to prevent injury
• create choreography or dance routines
• develop lesson plans that are age appropriate based on student level and experience
• gradually increase skill level dependent on the experience of their students
• ability to communicate effectively with students and parents
• explain and demonstrate techniques and methods of regulating movements of body to musical and/or rhythmic accompaniment
• display at all times a professional and enthusiastic attitude

The ideal candidate has two+ years of teaching experience. Dance Certification or dance degree a plus. High level to training and background in ballet and other major dance categories.. Needs to be self-motivated, organized, patient, a good communicator.

Availability: Monday through Friday from 3 pm to 6 pm

Starting Date: Septemer 2026

Part-time position with opportunity for additional hours and responsibilities based on growth of the program.
