Job Description

Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD) is seeking an experienced professional in project coordination, recreation planning, capital development, or administrative support to join our team as Planning & Development Coordinator. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to support long-term planning, design, and construction projects, coordinate a variety of programs, provide vital administrative support for department initiatives and act as a department liaison for planning & development projects.

A successful candidate will have strong customer service and communication skills, the ability to independently identify and resolve issues, and expertise in organization and process management. Experience in construction, contracting, permitting or purchasing is desirable

The typical schedule for this position is Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, with flexible hours. This role will require occasional evening hours to accommodate monthly meetings. During the initial 3-6 month training period, the selected incumbent will spend the majority of their time onsite. Upon completion of the training period, this role will have flexibility to work a hybrid schedule.

Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that would likely provide the applicant with the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

A bachelor's degree with major course work in park and recreation planning, recreation management, business management or a related field, or equivalent work-life experience, and three years of related experience. Lead work experience preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid Oregon Driver’s License, required
  • Possession of a valid Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) certification issued by the National Recreation and Park Association is desirable
