Position Summary: The Operations Coordinator position provides support to the Director and their reports by handling a variety of tasks to assist with efficiency, communication, and policy adherence. Mercury is looking for a multi-tasker with excellent communication skills and the ability to handle a changing work environment. Candidates should be professional, polite, and attentive while also being accurate. The right candidate will be capable of handling a variety of challenges and should possess a genuine desire to help operations run more efficiently and effectively.


Location: Mission, KS or Ft. Wayne, IN with hybrid schedule
Position Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle requested tasks such as generating reports, setting up meetings, and assisting with communication channels.
  • Provide real-time scheduling support by organizing meetings and preventing conflicts.
  • Assist the director with administrative support.
  • Provide data entry support across departments on an ad-hoc basis
  • Edit data using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting software to be efficient and presentable to leadership.
  • Perform routine bookkeeping and assist with special projects
  • Making travel arrangements, such as booking flights, and cars, and making hotel and restaurant reservations
  • Assist with coordination among utility companies, municipalities, and permitting agencies in conjunction with General Mangers of location.
  • Generate reports and conduct research to contribute to effective practices.
  • Ensure mail received is scanned and distributed to the appropriate department.
  • Maintain polite and professional communication via phone, E-mail, and mail with employees, vendors, contractors, and customers as needed.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Proficient with appropriate software including: Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Advanced with Microsoft Excel
  • 3 years of Assistant or Support role experience
  • Professional level verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable with routinely shifting demands
  • High degree of attention to detail

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Associate degree in Business Administration preferred
