About This Position
Monday through Friday 8:00a.m. - 4:30p.m. In a management position some days may require coming early or staying late.
This is responsible supervisory work involving supervision of warehousing functions. This may include marking or tagging items as necessary for identification purposes,and storing them at convenient locations until requested. This position works under the direction of the Operations Manager
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Exercises direct supervision over the following: Receiving Material Handler, Forklift Operator(s), Shipping/Receiving Clerk
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans and schedules the work of the warehousing function, and the maximum effective utilization of employees, equipment, and space.Schedules all deliveries to insure proper manpower requirements and client’s needs are met.Assists management in planning and scheduling the work of the warehousing function in order to obtain the maximum effective utilization of employees, equipment, and space.Insures warehouse space is used efficiently.Monitors product transfers between warehouse facilities.Monitors bin location system for accuracy.Insures completed receipts and returns-to-stock are put away and stored in a timely manner.Insures all receivers are processed correctly and expeditiously. Resolves all issues involving packing slips, P.O.’s counts and item number identification. Supervises the unloading of containers to insure it is done properly, expeditiously and safely.Prepares bulk outbound shipments.Handles special requests (such as “RTV”s, bulk shipments, client closeouts, destroy/scrap requisitions, etc.) and verifies completeness, accuracy, and billable time.Estimates manpower requirements and advises management accordingly.Assigns employees to jobs. Instructs them in the proper and safe performance of work and the operation of equipment.Familiarizes employees supervised with company policies and procedures.Maintains harmony among employees and resolves complaints. Initiates appropriate disciplinary action in accordance with company policies when necessary.Monitors work of subordinates for accuracy, conformance to procedures, and time expended to perform their duties. Takes remedial action as necessary.Conducts employee performance reviews on a regularly scheduled basis and as needed to help subordinates achieve agreed-upon objectives.Participates in the administration of Human Resources Management policies and programs. Initiates action for approval of promotion, merit increases, transfers, leaves of absence and other personnel changes.Makes timely requests for the maintenance and/or repair of equipment used in the performance of warehousing functions.Participates, along with management, in planning of warehouse layout, taking into consideration turnover, size, weight, and related factors of stored items.Tours warehouse facility daily, and maintains constant alert for hazardous conditions. Takes immediate and appropriate actions when necessary to relieve such conditions.Makes certain that the housekeeping of warehouse area meets with company expectations. Schedules work for special and periodic inventories.Insures monthly skid counts are accurately reported, and weekly corrugated inventories are taken.Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures and to determine the accuracy of merchandise received and subsequently pulled from storage.Performs or assists in performing duties of subordinates depending on workload demands.Oversees and actively monitors security programs which have been established to protect client property.Performs related work as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Requires a High School diploma, or the equivalent, and one to two years experience and/or training in warehousing functions, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be computer literate, have a basic understanding of Microsoft Office products. Must be a certified Fork Lift Operator and have RFS (Radio Frequency System) experience.

- Digital dexterity involved in using computer keyboard. Basic keyboarding and PC literate.
