The Maintenance Manager is responsible for all plant maintenance, including facilities, utilities, and operations, to reduce downtime and assure peak plant efficiencies. Will direct all capital engineering design and projects to completion and work with appropriate vendors. This position will also have direct responsibility for the Maintenance team and their performance. This role has a responsibility for ensuring both food safety and the quality of all products manufactured at Anita’s Mexican Foods.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, supervise, and develop the maintenance team, building technical capability and accountability.
- Ensure timely completion of maintenance activities, including service calls, repairs, and equipment support.
- Oversee and maintain Preventive Maintenance (PM), Corrective Maintenance, and TPM programs using CMMS systems.
- Monitor equipment performance and drive continuous improvement to increase uptime and efficiency (focus on MTBF).
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) to minimize downtime and prevent recurring failures.
- Establish and standardize maintenance procedures to improve equipment reliability and output.
- Lead troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and PLC-controlled systems, including high-speed equipment.
- Provide strategic oversight of PLC troubleshooting and programming activities.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing initiatives to improve plant performance across all shifts.
- Partner cross-functionally with operations and other departments to support production goals.
- Develop and manage maintenance and capital expenditure budgets; ensure spending aligns with approved plans.
- Evaluate buildings, equipment, and facility conditions; recommend and implement improvements.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA, AQMD, GMP).
- Integrate food safety and hygiene standards into equipment design and maintenance practices.
- Maintain and support training programs to improve productivity, quality, and safety.
- Stay current on technical advancements and manufacturing best practices.
- Promote a strong safety culture and adherence to company policies and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Drive and support plant culture, team-based structure, and performance accountability systems.
- Ability to perform many other needed tasks as needed.
- Minimum 5+ years of maintenance supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in food manufacturing equipment repair
- Strong experience leading cross-functional teams in a collaborative environment
- Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and PLC systems in manufacturing
- Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance programs (PM, CM, TPM)
- Knowledge of safety standards and labor regulations
- Experience with forklift operation
- Ability to read, complete, and maintain reports and documentation
- Experience in food manufacturing and high-speed production equipment preferred
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and/or TPM certification preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Experience with sanitary stainless steel welding (MIG, TIG, STICK) preferred
- Familiarity with packaging and tortilla manufacturing processes preferred
Additional Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required (technical training preferred)
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including rotating shifts and weekends as needed
- Must provide own tools (if applicable)
- Ability to perform additional duties as needed to support plant operations

- Tolerate high noise levels and elevated temperatures typical of a manufacturing setting
PPE: Steel-toe, slip-resistant shoes, hair and beard net, safety glasses, and earplugs are required in food manufacturing work areas; gloves are recommended.
