Job Description
DIMENSIONS/SCOPE OF POSITION:
Provides and administers anesthesia and provides pain management services under the direction, supervision and responsibility of the anesthesiologist.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Performs patient evaluation and work up, including but not limited to; history and physical assessment, patient/family/caregiver education, routine laboratory, diagnostic, and physical therapy reports
- Pre-Anesthesia Assessment: Collaborate with anesthesiologists to develop individualized anesthesia care plans, including obtaining informed consent.
- Anesthesia Administration: Select, obtain, and administer anesthetic agents and medications, ensuring patient safety and comfort during procedures.
- Monitoring: Continuously monitor patients’ vital signs and responses to anesthesia, making necessary adjustments to maintain stability.
- Emergency Management: Respond to emergencies by assessing and stabilizing patients, including airway management and administering emergency medications.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Regular and predictable attendance

- Performs other related duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Not applicable.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and/or Experience:
Master’s degree required. Graduate of an accredited CRNA educational program recognized by the state committee of CRNAs and the Board of Medical Examiners. Successful completion of the examination of the National Board for Certification of CRNA.
Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in the English language.
Mathematical Skills: Basic arithmetic skills are required.
Reasoning Ability: Identifies and resolves problems promptly.
Computer Skills: Must be computer literate. Intermediate computer skills required.
Certificates, Licenses: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) and APRN license and certification as a CRNA from the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA). Must also have a valid unexpired ACLS, PALS and BLS.
Other Skills and Abilities: Able to listen and respond well to questions and feedback.
