About the Role:
The 1st Shift, Monday-Thursday 6:30am- 4:30pm, Press Brake Operator plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by accurately bending and shaping metal components according to precise specifications. This position requires the operator to set up, adjust, and operate press brake machinery to produce high-quality parts that meet engineering drawings and quality standards. The operator will collaborate closely with production teams to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of orders while maintaining safety protocols. Attention to detail and the ability to interpret technical blueprints are essential to minimize errors and material waste. Ultimately, this role contributes directly to the overall productivity and product excellence of the manufacturing facility.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience operating press brake machinery in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Basic math skills to measure and calculate bend angles and dimensions.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification or formal training in press brake operation or metal fabrication.
- Experience with CNC press brake machines.
- Familiarity with quality control processes and inspection tools.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to metal fabrication equipment.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate press brake machines to bend and form metal parts according to job specifications and blueprints.
- Inspect finished products for accuracy, quality, and adherence to tolerances, making adjustments as necessary.
- Maintain and clean press brake equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Collaborate with production supervisors and team members to meet daily production goals and deadlines.
- Follow all safety guidelines and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
Skills:
The required skills enable the operator to accurately set up and manipulate press brake machinery to produce parts that meet exact specifications, ensuring product quality and consistency. Reading and interpreting blueprints daily allows the operator to understand complex bend sequences and dimensions, reducing errors and rework. Manual dexterity and attention to detail are essential for handling materials safely and performing precise bends. Preferred skills such as CNC operation and quality control knowledge enhance efficiency and allow the operator to troubleshoot and optimize machine performance. Together, these skills support a productive, safe, and high-quality manufacturing process.
