About the Role:
The 2nd Shift, Monday through Thursday 4:30pm-2:30am, Press Brake Operator plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by accurately bending and shaping metal components according to precise specifications. This position ensures that production goals are met during the second shift by operating press brake machinery safely and efficiently. The operator is responsible for interpreting blueprints, setting up the press brake, and making necessary adjustments to achieve high-quality finished products. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are essential to maintain product integrity and workplace safety. Ultimately, this role contributes to the overall success of the production team by delivering consistent, precise metal fabrications on schedule.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating press brake machinery or similar metal fabrication equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating bend angles and dimensions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in press brake operation or metal fabrication.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment with shift work.
- Familiarity with CNC press brake programming and operation.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to use precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate press brake machinery to bend and form metal parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production schedules to determine job requirements.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Monitor the quality of finished products, making adjustments as necessary to meet quality standards.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines and resolve any operational issues.
Skills:
The required skills enable the operator to accurately interpret blueprints and set up the press brake for precise metal bending tasks, ensuring that each piece meets exact specifications.
