Position SummaryThe Nurse Manager is a Registered Nurse leader responsible for the overall operation of the unit. This role provides direction and oversight in planning, coordinating, assessing, implementing, and evaluating the comprehensive plan of care for each resident.
The Nurse Manager ensures that staff deliver the care and services necessary to attain and maintain the highest practicable physical, psychological, social, and spiritual well-being of residents. This is achieved in accordance with each resident’s comprehensive assessment and individualized Plan of Care, while maintaining full compliance with current state, federal, and VA regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily operations of the nursing unit to ensure high-quality resident care
- Lead, mentor, and support nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members
- Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and VA regulations
- Coordinate and evaluate resident care plans and outcomes
- Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and excellence
- Support staff development, education, and performance management
- Collaborate with other departments to meet the holistic needs of residents

- Registered Nurse (RN) with a current and valid State of Maine license (required)
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree Nursing program (required)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Three to five years of nursing experience, with leadership experience strongly preferred
- Experience or training in geriatrics, rehabilitation, education, and/or psychiatric nursing desirable
- Demonstrated ability to organize, direct, and coordinate nursing and allied health personnel
- Genuine interest in and commitment to gerontological nursing
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
