Anesthesia Veterinary Nurse Technician at Ethos Veterinary Health – Malvern, Pennsylvania

Veterinary Referral Center (VRC) is a comprehensive, referral specialty & emergency critical care veterinary hospital in Malvern, Pennsylvania. We are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for appointments, advanced imaging, surgery and emergency/critical care services. At our hospital, you'll be working alongside a large team of experienced & board-certified veterinarians with advanced specialized training who utilize the latest innovations in medicine and technology to treat companion animals. Our veterinary services include trauma treatment and critical care, medical oncology, radiation therapy oncology, cardiology, internal medicine, ophthalmology, orthopedic surgery, soft tissue surgery, dentistry/oral surgery, neurology and neurosurgery, MRI and CT, endoscopy, rehabilitation, and emergency services.

We are looking to add a skilled Anesthesia Veterinary Nurse to join our exceptional surgery team! By joining VRC you will be supported by a team of excellent nurses and assistants along with experienced, board-certified veterinarians. We utilize the latest innovations in medicine and technology to treat companion animals on an emergency basis and/or long term ailments.
Schedule:

• 3/12's or 4/10’s, no regularly scheduled weekends
• Holiday shift obligations
• Once a month on call is required. Our nurses get to choose if they will do Anesthesia on call or Treatment on call!

Compensation:

• Hourly range $22-34/hour
• Overnight shifts receive a $3/hr. shift differential
• Weekend shifts receive a $3/hr. shift differential
• Credentialed Veterinary Technicians receive an additional $2 an hour
• Veterinary Technician Specialists receive an additional $4 an hour
• On call stipend for Anesthesia techs is an additional $350 on top of hourly pay!
• On call stipend for Treatment techs is an additional $300 on top of hourly pay!

Preferred skills:

• Proficient in venipuncture & IVC placement
• Thorough knowledge of veterinary medicine, sedatives, anesthetics, etc.
• Utilize proper handling/restraint
• An understanding of animal behavior (fear free familiarity is a plus!)
• Broad knowledge of small animal surgery, disease processes and medicine
• Comfortable with dosages and calculations, including CRI's and IVF additives
• At least 1 year of veterinary nursing experience, preferably in anesthesia or 3+ years of nursing experience
• Flexible, adaptable, self-motivated, and a team player
