About This Position

The Anderson Center for Autism is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Speech‑Language Pathologist to support preschool‑aged students at our Mt. Marion location. In this role, the Speech‑Language Pathologist provides comprehensive speech and language assessment, therapeutic intervention, and consultation services within an interdisciplinary early childhood program. The SLP partners with educators, families, and related service providers to promote functional communication, social interaction, and developmental progress while ensuring services align with each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) and New York State requirements.

Pay Range: $69,881.03 - $76,856.41 Annual Salary; Based on certifications and years of experience.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct speech and language evaluations using standardized and/or criterion‑referenced tools
  • Prepare written evaluation reports, summaries, IEP goals, objectives, and progress documentation
  • Provide individual and group speech‑language therapy services
  • Address functional communication, speech and language development, oral‑motor skills, and AAC needs
  • Integrate therapy goals into classroom routines and preschool programming
  • Collaborate with classroom staff, related service providers, and families to support student outcomes
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to treatment planning
  • Provide consultation and guidance to staff regarding communication strategies and supports
  • Communicate with families regarding student services, progress, and documentation needs
  • Review and upload therapy prescriptions/scripts to the CPSE portal
  • Coordinate service start dates, manage therapy schedules, monitor productivity, and arrange make‑up sessions
  • Report missed sessions to school districts in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Compile related service discipline reports for annual and regulatory reporting
  • Provide oversight and support to related service providers in the preschool setting
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with all licensure, certification, and regulatory requirements

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Master’s degree in Communication Disorders or related field
  • New York State certification as a Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) or Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped
  • Current New York State licensure and certification maintained throughout employment
  • Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary, early childhood environment
